LOL here comes the thread drift.
Name the single that got the most radio airplay during the 20th century.
Happy Birthday to You
Sorry Mick, wrong.
Hint: radio airplay is measured by BMI/ASCAP royalties

Right on Terry.
The song also has the record for most Spotify streams in a day (just over 12 million on Christmas day, 2019).

OK, the career trifecta (ROY, MVP, CY) winners:
Don Newcombe: 1949 NL ROY, 1956 NL CY, 1956 NL MVP
Justin Verlander: 2006 AL ROY, 2011 AL CY, 2011 AL MVP, 2019 AL CY
Verlander is also the answer for one of the folks who won two awards in a year.

And that's the one that reached #1 in four consecutive decades, starting in 1994, and their last week as #1 was January 4, 2020.

According to BMI, the single record with the most radio airplay in the 20th century is "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" by the Righteous Bros.

I don't think that's right. The song has charted every year since its release, but I think it only made it to #1 (at least in the Billboard chart) for the first time on Dec. 21, 2019. Hence the 25 years between release and top of chart.

You're right, I garbled the question. Mariah Carey is the only singer to have a #1 hit in four separate decades, not the song. My misteak.
