In the US, there are currently close to 300K cases per day in a country of 320M.  That's about 94 daily cases per 100K, off that chart....
The US confirmed case numbers are bad but not quite that high. According to Worldometers charts, the 7 day average of new cases recently topped out at around 69,000/day, which works out to 21.2/100K.
Thanks for catching that.  I took the numbers from gisaid.org.  I thought it was showing me US daily cases, but it was showing world daily cases.
I wish I'd double checked...
