Delaire's game reminds me so much of DaSilva's game.  Delaire is becoming bigger importance this year and will be even more important next year. I really hope this team makes the tourney this year as I think next year we will take a step back losing Davis, DaSilva, Williams and I heard Wills may be looking to pursue a professional career after this season as well.  I love this 2020 Class of Frosh even after Williams goes pro.  I think O'Connel, Taitz, Angel and Murrel will all be four year players that will be very good as upperclassmen.  Tourney 2021 maybe not 2022 and then perenially a tourney team starting in 2023 is my prediction.

8 assists no turnovers in O’Connell’s first extended play.

Excellent win

O'Connell reminds me of Chris Hernandez. Solid frame, savvy game, ready to play even as a freshman.

Wills was on his feet at the end of the game, which is positive.

Don't all D-I basketball players get an extra year of eligibility this year?  Williams may be heading for the draft, but how about 5th year seniors Daejon Davis and Oscar Da Silva in the lineup next year?  Surely Oscar could co-term in biology, right?  (I'm dreaming, I know, but it's fun to imagine)

If I were ZW, I'd definitely come back for another year -- to get bigger/stronger and experience college under more normal circumstances (assuming things go as planned/hoped for re: vaccinations). Unless he has family bills to pay or his game takes off second half of the season, I see little upside to bolting so quickly in his case.

Exactly. Really would be a smart move for him to stick around another year.

Plus, Ziaire will have Harrison Ingram and Isa Silva to play with next year, which should be both a lot of fun and good for his numbers.

O'Connell reminds me of Chris Hernandez. Solid frame, savvy game, ready to play even as a freshman.

Add fearlessness.  For example, here:

Agree with the comparison to Hernandez; he showed some good strength taking it to the bucket in that "and one".

Have to admit that when O'Connell subbed in I texted a friend, "cr#p, here comes the dribbling turnover machine." Delighted I was so wrong. He was terrific. Nowhere near as quick as Wills/Davis on defense, but he plays hard and improved I thought as the game went on.

I agree that DeLaire is improving rapidly. He no longer casts off 3 pointers half the time and is sticking with what works. I expect he will continue to practice 3's and, if he can improve there, he will be a monster next year. Also, he along with Wills and Keefe, has put on good muscle in the last year. The strength coach is doing a good job, methinks. Congrats to him.

Any info re Davis' and Wills' injuries? Our chances depend on both of them returning in near term.

Da Silva should have a good chance of picking up his 3rd Pac-12 player of the week award next Monday after dropping 31/10 on OSU.  With games tomorrow and Saturday, he will have 3 games on which to be judged.

Also, O'Connell should have a decent shot at the freshman award with his solid performance off the bench.  He had 12 points and 7 rebounds.  Even more impressive was his zero turnovers.  Of course he will need significant playing time in the next two games to earn it.

You missed the 8 assists. First Stanford freshman to have 12/8/7 since a little-known player named Brevin Knight.
