I'll take a 23 point 1st quarter. Jerome gets the first rotation. She showed some good stuff. Jump is dialed in. Beavs are scrappy.

Yes, I wonder about Belibi and Prechtel, if they are available.
Jump and Williams each 2-2 from three point range or this quarter would not look so good. We are not able to work it inside so far. Jones with only 1 attempt in the first quarter.

We lead 23-18 after one quarter in a series of runs. We started the game on a 9-2 run but the Beavers rallied to take the lead, but we came back and took the advantage to end the first ten minutes.
Both teams are shooting better than 50%; we are shooting 71% from long range with both Kiana and Hannah making both of their 3-pointers.
Tara is playing a very guard oriented lineup with Cameron picking up an early foul, Haley turning the ball over while trying to score 1 on 3, and no sign of Prechtel or Belibi.

I take back what I said about these games being defensive.
Belibi must be out and Prechtel must still be in the concussion protocol. Suddenly we are thin in the post. Brink with two fouls gives Jerome a lot of playing time.

I am glad the announcer is calling the score frequently as it's hard to keep track, especially with all the made buckets of the game score.

That second foul on Brink was bogus. She seems to draw whistles without explanation.

Imagine if we were shooting at a normal clip. Ouch. We're shooting 51.7%/63.6% But they are 48.0/45.5.
Just barely enough to stay ahead.

Luckily besides Taylor Jones, Oregon State's strength is with their guards, which we can match up well with

Well, only a 3 point lead despite shooting 9/16 from three point range.
Our defense absolutely has to improve in the second half, since I doubt we can sustain that three point shooting. Jerome is having the game of her career.
OSU is using screens to get open threes, pretty consistently. It is really working for them. And Taylor Jones seems unstoppable with her step back jumper.
I've seldom been so nervous with a half time lead.

We lead 43-40 at the half as offense and hot shooting was the name of the game for both teams.
Oregon State is beating us, shooting percentage wise, 52% to 50% but we are leading due to our red hot 3-point shooting at 60% as the Beavers are shooting 43% from long range themselves.
Alyssa is adding some much needed offensive help, scoring 8 points off the bench with Brink in foul trouble and Belibi and Prechtel both seemingly unavailable. We are missing that defensive paint presence as Taylor Jones is 6/8 for 12 points, but we can't afford to double team her as the Beavers have excellent sharpshooters.
Talia Van Oelhoffen, who I believe we were recruiting, looks impressive in her early collegiate days with 7 points.
