WSU is +19 on second chance points. There's your reason we didn't run away with this.
The non existent rebounding continues. Game over.

I wouldn't be so confident. Up 1 at halftime. Our offense looks bad--tons of turnovers on forced passes that shouldn't be happening. Plus some very bad shot selection. Lots of questionable fouls and no calls, too. Ziaire got hit in the face, and Bryce got pulled to the ground on a rebound--no call on either.
It's amazing we're winning.

I so agree. Why was Wiliams out so long. He's a good defender

If our coach’s name were Dawkins, the Board would be crucifying him right now. Epic coaching malpractice in this game.

How do you play 55 minutes of basketball and get just TWO offensive rebounds!?!?!!?

How do you go SCORELESS in a game's 3rd OT?!?!?!!?
It's time for Hasse to get some better assistant coaches. He can recruit, but there is some serious lack of coaching for his program to produce so little with the talent it has brought in.

No kidding, that's terrible coaching if so. I missed the second half of this one and am glad I did. What a train wreck. 50% free throws percentage and 24 TOs? My question from what I saw in the first half: Why keep Kisunas in so much? He was fumbling every ball sent to him that I saw. I really expected to see a different starting lineup today and hope we'll see it come Thursday.

I hope so too, but I have very little confidence that we will, unless Da Silva, Davis, and Williams surprise by coming back, and Ingram lives up to the hype. Unfortunately, history leads me to believe that those guys are gone and Ingram will not take the Pac-12 by storm. We will be lucky to be a .500 team in conference next year.
Ultimately, I don't think Haase is any better than Dawkins was, and while he is a better recruiter, he may be getting less out of his talent than Dawkins did.

Kisunas had a rough game and it never really got better. Haase should've tried either going with a smaller lineup or giving Murrell more time, but he didn't.
This is the first time in a while where I've felt like Haase did a bad job of coaching. WSU was 6-10 in conference with basically one good player, and we let him beat us. Surely we could've put more emphasis on rebounding. Also switching on screens more would've helped (though we did some--just not enough).
Thank goodness the USC game got postponed.

A miserably frustrating game. Cooked our goose unless we can win last two and get to semis in Pac 12. Players are no doubt pi%^&ed beyond belief with themselves and the coaches...and they should be.

Agree BC. Haase is pretty average. Not fouling at the end, especially with a hot shooter, is just ridiculous. My other main gripe is that I don't understand his fascination with Wills. He does make some good plays, but today Williams got by him whenever he wanted. Offensively, Wills is a subpar player - can't shoot, poor decision maker, turns it over, doesn't make FT's. I'm so tired of hearing about the "best defending guards in the conference/country". They aren't *that* good and the title ignores the other aspects of the game. Why not put some length on Williams instead? Like Zaire for instance? Maybe that would have lit a fire under him? He's got to get going for us to have any chance of making it back into the tourney.
Along with Haase, every player was accountable for that loss, whether it's missed FT's, bad decisions, turnovers, etc. Every one of DaSilva's last 3 fouls were avoidable. Team leader, has to stay on the court.

Exactly. Go with the smaller lineup, play Murrell more or even Angel, mix it up to get the best groups out there. Kisunas has had some big moments for this team, but his hands are a liability at times, and it was clear to everyone that this was one of those times. No excuse to play him so much today. Not putting the loss on him, mind you. The coaching obviously played a big role, and many players share some of the blame, too. ZW had a rough outing according to the box score, for instance. Tough loss at a tough time. No good excuses for it.

Of course it did not help that Stanford's flight from Seattle was delayed for about a day. The first delay sent the team back to the hotel they came from, the next day's flight was also delayed according to the announcers.

Some points:
You absolutely can't choke two free throws, either which would have won the game.
O'Connell had no idea how to beat the trap. Instead of Montgomery style where you make the opponent pay for a trap or press you now have guards who panic.
I would rather guys like Williams be allowed to come out from high school and if they choose to attend college be required to spend three years like baseball. The one and done rule has ruined college ball for me. I have no interest in the tournament.
14-9 in a VERY crappy conference shouldn't even get you into the NIT.
When is Spring practice?

I still wonder why Williams didn't play more. 20 min in three ot's? He's the third best wing defender, imo, and HE CAN REBOUND. Yes, he was 1-7 but 2 of those were in ot when we needed to score. An earlier 3 went around the rim and out, so he could have been 2-5 before OT.
Guys were getting tired and he's an energizer, and yet he's on the bench. I don't get it.

Supposedly, it was decided this week that the NIT will consist of only 16 teams, with all games played in NY.
