We are 0-3 on three pointers, they are 2-5. We need to get our shots lined up.

I was angry that the ref left a player lying on the ground under the basket and let play go on. At the very least, the ref should have stood in front of the player to prevent someone running on top of her.
But the right thing is to blow the whistle, stop the play, and get the player off the court.
That's no Adam's Apple in the refs' throats, that's their whistle!

A 13-13 tie after one quarter against Oregon State. Both teams started off cold, missing shots before the Beavers scored the first bucket, but offense remains at a premium with both teams shooting in the low 30's.
Goodman has provided 6 of the 13 points for the Beavers with 3-pointers while Lacie and Ashten are contributing as our starters are struggling to find the basket. We have forced 5 turnovers though on Oregon State to keep it tight.

13-13 after the first quarter. Our shooting is poor--part of that is OSU defense, always good. Part of it is just missing. We need to dial in the artillery. Jump often misses a couple before she starts hitting.
Jones and Williams have tried to get something going by taking it too the basket, but they and Brink have all missed layups so far.
We are 0-7 from three. I am relieved to be ahead 22-16 considering. Only our fast breaks are keeping us in the lead with our otherwise poor shooting. Defense is pretty good except when we double OSU is finding the open shooters on the perimeter.

Our shots are good, just not going in. Need whatever vacuum is on the OSU end to suck 'em in if they're close. Thankfully, not all of theirs are close.
But, geez, Anna Wilson. Must still live in the minds of some folks she has defended.

We are fighting hard against these scrappy Beavers. Anna is really hustling to guard Goodman. I love the fast pace that we are imposing. Smart move by Tara. Wear them out with our deep bench.

And now we see Tara's strategy. Run OSU into the ground. Of course she noticed that OSU played us tight in a plodding game in Corvallis until they ran out of gas in the 4th quarter. So the strategy is to make them run faster than in that game and hopefully wear out sooner.
With Williams finally hitting two treys we got a bit of breathing room but botched the defense and gave up a three point play right before the end of the half. Still ahead 33-22 which is much better than the last game we played against them, when we led 43-40 at the half.

We lead 33-22 at the half. Both teams are not shooting particularly well, us at 37% and them at 29%. Our aggressive defense has led to 10 OSU turnovers and fast break points as the Beavers defense is doing well in styming our halfcourt offense.
Brink is leading the charge with 11 points and 4 rebounds, giving us the post advantage while Taylor Jones is on the bench. Kiana has 8 points, but on 3/10 shooting. Haley is 0/4 with 2 of our 3 turnovers; I can't tell from the camera angle but on one of those giveaways, it literally looked like she just handed it to a Beavers player.
We are doing an okay job on Goodman results-wise, 8 points on 3/7 shooting but I am seeing Anna playing close defense on her, so I am hoping that will wear her out in the second half.
I am getting more and more respect for the Beavers; I think they are a very dangerous team and will be a handful come tournament time. We'll have to step it up a notch in the second half to win this game.

Amazing statistic: Layups: Stanford 8/19 OSU 2/6 Seems like an effective defense, but offense could be better.

Taylor Jones: 0/4, 2 fouls, 2 turnovers in 11 minutes. She won't stay that bad in the second half.

Well, right on que, Belibi comes in and Jones gets a couple of baskets.
A 12 point lead is nice, but I am far from being confident given how hot OSU can become from three. We need to keep up the intensity and focus.

Brink had 4 blocks in the 1st half. I've seen her make 2 blocks in the 3rd Q. So, she should be at 6. But ESPN stats only shows 4.

Is it my imagination or is OSU beginning to wear down? 46-30 with a couple of minutes left in the third quarter.
I'd like to see us have an offensive explosion in the 4th.

Scorekeeper ain't showing any love, either, giving OSU more time than they deserve.
