A really poor ending to the 1st quarter, giving up a couple of steals, a trey, and a last second jumper brings OSU within 1 at 17-16. And its not just the points, but we were dominating them and now have given them some life. We need to crush them in the 2nd quarter. The longer they hang around, the more confidence they will gain.
Ki has gone cold so far, 0-4.

We lead by only one point, 17-16 as OK State goes on a 7-0 run to end the quarter off of some fast break points.
Anna made her first 3 shots to start with 8 points, but Kiana has missed her first few attempts.
OK State has gotten some cheap points off of turnovers; we must take care of the ball better. Our offense seems a bit sluggish right now; we got to pick it up and take care of the ball better.

Kianna's shot was off in the first quarter. Haley needs to pay with a sense of urgency. Belibi looked uncomfortable out there. We should have a double-digit lead.

If it were not for the fast break points we have given up, and the points off turnovers, we would have a brobdingnagian lead. Their defense is gambling a lot and we need to punish it. And hang on to the ball.
It is great to see the three pointers begin to go in, but is anyone else getting worried that we are becoming too dependent on the three ball?

Second quarter more like normal, but plenty of room for improvement. Okey State seems like a good, average team. They should not get within double-digits the rest of the way.

I'm not sure what the announcer meant when she said Belibi is starting to understand the Stanford offense.

Well a 25-11 second quarter was what the doctor ordered.
9-13 from three point range. That is ridiculous.
Tara DID have something cooked up for Mack. Brink guarding her and another player--often Belibi--come over to front her. So Mack passes back outside and only got her first basket almost at the end of the half.
Anyone find any decent live states other than the crummy ESPN ones? The livestats link on the Stanford site doesn't seem to work.

We lead 42-27 at the half. Our offense perked up a little, but we are still a little too lackasadical with the ball, such as the OK State player slapping the ball out of Cameron's hands off of a defensive rebound for an easy lay-in and Kiana's errant pass.
I think OK State will pick up the defensive pressure in the second half.
I think defensively once we get into the half court, we are okay. Mack scored her first points right before the half, but we have to prevent their fast break points.
81alum, I feel like we are dependent on the success of our long range shooting. If our shots are landing from afar, then the rest of our offense gains confidence and rhythm but if we are missing, then we tend to not be sure what to do with ourselves except chucking up more shots.
Fortunately, Kiana's shooting has caught fire after a slow start and Anna is having her best offensive game in a while.
