I was concerned about Stines being at a very small school but they recently beat Winward by 8 and Stines had 26 points

Stines plays on the same AAU team as ‘23 recruit Chloe Briggs.

California Storm / Team Taurasi.  I like Stines' games.  Seems to be a good shooter and has a little sizzle to her game with some of her cross-overs.

More video, with a focus on her scoring, particularly her outside shot:

Stines shot 41% from 3 last season.

from the Stanford women's basketball facebook page

Quote:Thrilled to announce the addition of Jordan Hamilton to the Cardinal as a graduate transfer for the 2021-22 season!

and gostanford

Quote:A 5-8 guard, Hamilton originally hails from Frisco, Texas and spent the last four seasons at Northwestern, where she helped revitalize a program into the national spotlight. Playing in 110 career games, with 85 appearances in the starting lineup, Hamilton will be playing a fifth year due to a COVID-19-related NCAA rule granting an extra season for student-athletes who competed in 2020-21 winter sports.

Wow, is this our first transfer of any kind since Brooke Smith? We've obviously had players transferred out, but it is rare for us to be on the receiving end of a transfer.

Hamilton will provide some much needed depth and experience on the guard position; I wonder if this means that Tara was not completely sold on Van Gytenbeek and/or Brown at the second guard position next to Wilson and wanted someone who could give them more time to adjust and gain more minutes without as much pressure on them?

Wow indeed! It will be most interesting to see where she fits in -- sounds like a significant player.

She was the 97th ranked recruit coming out of high school - a four star PG:

RE: Women's Basketball Recruiting - chimera - 05-26-2021

Wow, unexpected for sure, but welcome to Jordan.  We will have a brobdingnagian roster next year.  Her shooting stats are not that great percentage-wise but a starter from another DI team is certainly welcome.  I don't know if it reflects on our returning guards that she is coming.  She may beat them out for playing time, she may not.  Nice to have depth, however it plays out.

RE: Women's Basketball Recruiting - Card10Fan - 05-26-2021

With ESPN updating their 2022/2023 recruiting rankings this week; a few tidbits:
Chloe Briggs checks in at #27 in her class (has a Stanford offer)
Sammie Wagner who has reopened her recruitment is #11 (she is following Stanford coaches on social media)
Judea Watkins from Windward in SoCal is #1. Unsure if we've offered her. I stumbled across this little blip from who knows when that mention she hopes to continue her education at Stanford. These days though, kids change can change their minds by the hour so who knows if her interested has waned. Anyone seen her play or have any analysis into her style of play?

makes for a sizable roster next year. we're going to need a longer bench and a bigger bus!  ;  ^  )

RE: Women's Basketball Recruiting - BobK - 05-26-2021

For the 2019 WVB season Stanford had a great grad transfer. However she was accepted before telling our coach. Maybe the same here

RE: Women's Basketball Recruiting - Hurlburt88 - 05-27-2021

Does anyone know what grad program she will enroll in?

And maybe we can splint the roster into 2 with one playing in the Pac12 N and one in the Pac12 S?

The gostanford article says "She plans to obtain a master's degree in liberal arts at Stanford next year." There is a Stanford interdisciplinary program called Master of Liberal Arts. That program is mostly for adults who have been out of school for some years, so I'm not sure it's what's meant, but I guess it could be.

RE: Women's Basketball Recruiting - jonnyss - 05-27-2021

jordan's last game was impressive:

"She also featured a standout performance in the NCAA Tournament, nearly upsetting Louisville in the second round as a seven-seed, scoring 17 points, including three 3-pointers, with five rebounds."
