agree 2006 that Dev Peters and Chiney hit it on the head, and we probably all here agree would be nice to eliminate WBB college coaches and their biases from the selection process. I do suspect that someone may get hurt and Nneka gets to go, but I have to say if she went for the Nigerian team we'd likely all cheer for them - perhaps over US. Just think if the Americans with Nigerian ancestry opted for that team instead -- would that include Onyenwere and Ogunbowale?

As I count it, associations with Stanford: 1; associations with UConn: 1; associations with South Carolina: 0. (You might give a partial association for the Connecticut Sun coach to UConn.) Personally, I think the prior Olympic coach is a good choice to be on that committee. (Anyone remember if Tara had such a position in 2000?)

Unless the past Olympic coach is also the current Olympic coach, I don't see a better use of that selection committee spot than putting the current Olympic coach on the committee. The current coach would surely want to pick players who fit the system the coach wants to employ for that particular quadrennium.
