I sure hope so.
All these game "postponements" had me wondering if Geno was just saving 'em all up for when St. Paige gets back.
Same thoughts here about Geno and Paige

This season will benefit teams with quality depth and we are probably one of the deepest teams in the country. Yes no Brink and Prechtel isn’t ideal but Belibi, Iriafen and Demetre can all play the 4/5. Along with starter Jones and probably Emma-Nnopu if needed.

As we can see now only 10 players

I know Geno's not popular around these parts, but he does not care about anything other than championships. I guess more games with Paige would give her more time to work her way back into shape, but like anyone who has devoted their life to the sport, I can't see any reason why he'd root to have games postponed.

Yeah, this'll be an interesting test. WSU is not an especially tall team, so I don't think we'll hurt in the post, and we have more guards/wings than we've had playing time, so this could be an opportunity for some of our bench players to shine.... But first we need to build a lead...

Midway through the first quarter, we have more turnovers (3) than field goals (2). Ugh.

Rather short lineup but Jones has a hot hand. And our FG percentage has to go up just on mean reversion alone.
Some very iffy fouls called on offense for both teams.

Can anyone clarify why five players didn't travel? Did they test positive, or were they exposed? Why is it that part of the team can travel and play but not others?

Wondered when the mean reversion would kick in

I am sorry if I missed this, but why is a third of our team unavailable to play? I can't imagine all of them developed injuries over the last couple weeks?

They only mentioned that five players were unavailable. Never said Covid.
Jones with a double double at the half.

I don't know for sure, but I would assume it's Covid protocol.

The announcers have not said why five players could not make the trip--one presumes COVID protocols but I have not heard that. Jones is having a monster day and Wilson has come to play, Lexie is 2/2 but everyone else is having a pedestrian start on the offense. Would be nice to see Jana and Iriafan take advantage of their minutes as they have been scarce.
WSU has the capacity to come back in the 2nd half quite easily, and I suspect they will unless we make some adjustments ourselves.
This first half illustrated how critically important it is for our offense to his some three point shots early to open up the Princeton back door cuts. Until three pointers go in, the Princeton is easy to defend. Force defenders to come to the three point line and then there is room for all that pretty motion to operate.

An Instagram photo showed all in Pullman.
So it’s not that they didn’t travel.
No doubt it’s covid.
But we are doing fine so far

Rather uninspired ball from both teams. What an ugly half. Haley the best player in the gym by a mile and will probably go for 30 and 20 at this rate. Awesome offensive contribution by Anna. If she can give us 5-10 points a game that would really help. Rough half by Belibi, Hulls playing great D but no so great O, Hannah not hitting...We are really missing Brink and Prechtel, who would own this game. Nice to see Jana and Kiki getting some run though.
Would be great to change our 3rd-quarter-lay-an-egg streak and really extend the lead instead. To do that, we need a bunch of players to contribute, not just Haley and Anna.

36-26 at the half, so much better after an ugly start. Jones is out of her funk. At one point, we were up 36-21, after being down 13-7, a 29-8 run.

Too many offensive fouls called on moving screens by both teams in the first half. A few of them were legit, but most could have been let go. In particular, the last one on Haley's roll was ridiculous. Let 'em play refs...
RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Washington State Jan 2 noon -

In the first half, the refs called a shooting foul when the player took a dribble after the foul. Then Missy called an out of bounds on one of the Hulls when she never touched the ball after stepping out of bounds. And then there are the fouls only Missy would call, and mostly, she calls them on Stanford.
