We'll have our own very mini game attendance -- and on the plus side, we can drink wine as we watch and pretend we are actually there. Also on the plus side, no lines in the restroom, hot water to wash hands with, and we don't have to put on masks when we go from our seats to the concession stands (the refrigerator here, and popcorn that is genuinely fresh). But it's still not the same as actually being there!! Oh well, we're making the best of it.
Too bad you don't get to meet BobK and friends at halftime today!
Couldn't agree more. I was really looking forward to that get - together

And Sedona Prince out for Oregon, per our Pac-12 announcers. Sabally, Rogers, and Paopao all playing though.
Let's go Card!!

I think Brink should take it to Sabally in the post and get her in foul trouble. After Sabally, they don't have a big that can gaurd Brink.
Is Jones going to start playing?
Yes, Jones is now engaged.
I'll take a 19 point 1st quarter. Starting to cook. Oregon is good. I think we are better.

We lead 19-15 after one quarter.
Oregon started in a zone and elicited a couple of turnovers when we tried forcing the ball inside, but they reverted to a man-on-man defense after we went 4/6 from 3-pt range.
Brink is being more cautious on defense and that has saved her from picking up fouls, while she is drawing them on the other end, although she is only 1/4 from the FT line.
One thing we need to fix is grabbing defensive rebounds. The Ducks already have 8 offensive rebounds just a quarter of the way in the game. We need to prevent them from getting multiple looks at the basket.

They did miss 15 shots, had a lot of opportunities. We need a 10 point run
Demetre not dressed out, maybe Jana also

Many of those Oregon offensive rebounds were just luck. The ball was bouncing their way often. We weren't doing anything wrong on those.

I don't know why they don't call a foul on Sabally when she sticks her big butt out to block our defenders. It's a moving screen.

We lead 42-31 at the half.
Lexie has been the scoring lead in the first twenty minutes, scoring 16 points (3/4 from inside the paint and 4/7 from long range) and Jones chipping in with 8 points. We've been able to handle both types of defenses Oregon's thrown at us.
Brink picked up 2 fouls though. We are getting into conference play, hopefully she will be able to provide more minutes on the floor. Luckily, we are deep in the post and Iriafen has played important minutes and acquitted herself well on both ends. The future is bright for her and our depth in the four and five positions, especially against a Ducks team without one of their main posts in Sedona Prince, is a definite advantage.

Absolutely. We will see how much this team has grown and matured by how well it plays with a lead in the 3rd quarter--after our other third quarter debacles this year. Call it the killer instinct--or just call it staying focused with the lead--we need to prove that we can do it against quality opposition.
Lexie was wonderful in the first half!
We seemed to have real problems getting the ball inside against their zone. We shot 50% from three point range which made up for it and got them out of the zone. But we will either have to keep shooting the three well or we will have to figure out how to penetrate that zone in the second half. Maybe it will be time for Jones's mid range jumper to come alive.

We are becoming a very dangerous 3 point shooting team. We have 5 players that are capable of knocking down 3s consistently -- Jump, Lexie, Lacie, Wilson, and Prechtel. Maybe you could add Jana to that list.

I am surprised Tara hasn't used Prechtel more especially when Oregon is in a zone defense; she has a pretty good midrange jumper as well.

Interesting that at the half Oregon has zero assists to our 9.
No third Q letdown tonight. It's the Lexie show. GO CARD!

That fake tanned duck slammed into her going for a rebound. Of course no foul called.

Haley Jones with a shot to the head, taken to the locker room.
Anna Wilson, with the vision and court-length pass her brother would be proud of, spots a wide open Jump at the other end after the takeaway
