RE: Women's Golf at P12 conference tournament -
winflop - 04-20-2022
Host Oregon wins its first ever Pac-12 Championship. Congrats to the Ducks they are playing their best golf of late and will be a force at NCAAs. They have moved up to #2 behind Stanford and might pass them for #1 before regionals. Stanford finishes in a tie for second with Oregon State who was the only team score under par today. Zhang (-1) and Seay (+1) played well, but Krauter had a triple and double today that really made the difference between tying for second and standing alone in second. Very very uncharacteristic for Aline she is normally a rock (I can't remember the last time she made a double/other much less two in a single round). Englemann (+3) and Sturdza (+6) played about what would be expected.
1. Oregon +5
T2. Stanford & OSU +13
4, UCLA +18
T5. U$C & AZ +20
On the individual side, Rose Zhang was only one of two players to finish under par.
2. Zhang -2
8. Seay +3
T13. Krauter +5
T23. Englemann +7
Stanford now has a few weeks to get ready to host NCAA Regionals May 9-11. I expect the lineup to be Heck, Zhang, Seay, Krauter, and Englemann with Sturdza or Ye as the alternate. They should win the regional going away given the strength of the lineup and playing at home. Last year with the regionals at home, Stanford ran away with an unreal thirty shot margin of victory. This year's team is even better.
