I actually think Filkins shows flashes of being a special running back some day.  Brenden Barrow has a little kick to him too.  Honestly, I'd much rather see a healthy/hungry younger guy play than watch EJ run out of bounds to avoid contact like he did last time out.  Put it this way, I think the outcome of the game would be the same with or without EJ playing.  You could put McCaffery back there, and I doubt it would be enough. :(  Hope I'm wrong.

You are probably right. We had McCaffrey in 2016 and look what happened.

At this point, I'll gladly take 2016...

I hope you are referring to the overall 2016 record and not the results of the Stanford Washington game in that year.

Correct.

Hinton out too.

The forecast keeps getting more dire every day.

Oh Oh. I've been watching Hinton and he did fairly well vs SC. Was beat for a sack in the second half; otherwise he acquitted himself ok.

The hits just keep on coming. IMO, any chance we had for a decent season was contingent on keeping our offense healthy. It doesn't appear we are off to a very good start.

Seems like we were healthier going into the bye week than we are coming out of it.

Yeah, and our only one :(

Although I think Smith was hurt in the USC game.

Closing this thread as we have a separate thread for the news that Smith is now out for the year.
