You see that thread on “execution”. I realize that many find it to be a joke. But Stanford‘s first three drives failed as a result of poor execution. A dropped touchdown pass on the first drive, dropped third and fourth down passes on the third drive. You can hate the schemes you can hate the playcalling but the fact of the matter is you also have to freaking execute. This game they failed miserably on that task so far

Our guys don't appear to be coached to wrap their arms around the ball carrier when tackling. Also, I see our guys trying to tackle the shoulders rather than the hips. Too many missed tackles by this team. That's on the coaches.
Now that was PI. Grabbed the receiver before the ball got there. Easy call. But no.
Good call on the holding. That caused the INT.

The first half filled with the team shooting itself in the foot. Offensively they should have three touchdowns. It’s been there for them the entire game they just haven’t made the plays that were in front of them.
