RE: Filkins Out for Season - TrumpCard - 10-25-2022

This just makes me not like football

RE: Filkins Out for Season - Treebound - 10-25-2022

So there is a tweet by Rutter (further down) that shows an SI.com article stating he pulled his name out of the portal?  I'm hoping he saw the light and the potential impact he can have.  More importantly, hoping whatever caused him to go into the portal has now been resolved to his satisfaction.

RE: Filkins Out for Season - BobK - 10-25-2022

Harris is no longer on the team. One has to enter the portal during certain windows. His dad tweeted he will be enter the portal at the right moment

Shaw when asked, said Arlen is no longer on the team, and left it at that. . . .

Looks like they converted Leigber to RB. He came in as a safety and wasn't listed in the personnel thread on here as an RB.

Arlen Harris no longer listed on gostanford. That was fast...

you would think an enrolled student would know Stanford is on the quarter not the semester system...

I find tweets like his amusing, along with the ones thankful for an offer to "The University of Stanford".

Do not worry about the NCAA rules, the SEC doesn't, and they seem to be doing ok.

That certainly would be suite to see.

In the first few games, it seemed more 50:50 between Jones and Dye.  Recently, Jones has had to take a clear back seat to Dye.  Does Jones enter the portal again? JT Daniels has seen time at USC, Georgia and now West Virginia.  There is clear precedent for a three-school collegiate career.  And the Corona year adds extra eligibility into the mix.

I think Dye is out of eligibility after this year, so Jones can stick around and hope to be RB1 next year.  We don’t know exactly how much NIL money he’s receiving.  Depending on how things go next year, Jones still may have made a wise move, at least from a pure football perspective.

Yes, Dye is done after this year.  Jones can tack on the 2023 season and hope to be RB1 after Dye departs.  Let's see.

And, especially after last week's game, my WV grad relative thinks it's time for Daniels to sit.

You are allowed one free pass via the portal.  Daniels’ situation was unique because he received a waiver when he transferred from USC to Georgia.  He utilized his portal pass to move from Ga. to WVU.

Of course, Jones could move on and play immediately elsewhere if he received a waiver.

Interesting.  Didn't know that.

It's been a rough ride for JT Daniels.  Got injured and lost the starting job to Keedon Slovis at USC.  Went to Georgia as QB1, got injured and lost the starting job to Stetson Bennett, who then led the Bulldogs to the National Championship. Went to West Virginia, has underwhelmed and may be benched.

That said, Keedon Slovis, after his injury, also had to pack his bags and trek to Pittsburgh, while enfant terrible Jaxson Dart didn't like the Riley/Williams tandem arriving from Norman and hightailed it to Ole Miss.  None of them expected their illustrious USC careers to end this way.  These are indeed strange times for college football.

Does Babe Laufenberg still have eligibility? Clark Weaver?
