Mike White at it again

Hope you can read this. White while the Oregon coach and a daughter on the Stanford team until she quit early in the season was one of those leading the anti Rittman group

Last spring, Mike White was ejected in the first inning of a game with Oklahoma for flipping off umpire Naomi Urdahl. White was officially reprimanded by Bob Bowlsby, of all people. All class, Coach White.

(20) Seth Oliveras  on Twitter: "Mike White really said ? https://t.co/t3pmYMzetv" / Twitter

One of Oklahoma State's runners ran into White's catcher on a third-to-home rundown and was called out. On replay, the call was reversed -- Texas' catcher was found to have interfered with the runner. Coach White strenuously objected. Another play went to replay review, a double play that would have prevented an OSU runner from crossing the plate. The UT centerfielder caught a line drive and doubled off the OSU runner at second base. After review, it was determined that the runner scored before Texas made the third out. COach White then mocked umpire Urdahl by clapping in obvious disagreement, and Urdahl threw him out.

So, because Texas didn't get to complete the 8th inning it erased KY's 3 runs in the 8th?  That's a strange rule.

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - BobK - 02-13-2023

It’s the rule for all of baseball also

Makes for some odd disincentives sometimes.

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - BobK - 02-17-2023

Stanford beat Charlotte just now 4-0. HR by Kaneshiro. Canady with the complete game one hitter the first hit she has allowed thus far. And she had 16 K’s

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - MVDan - 02-17-2023

Stanford knocks off #10 Georgia 3-1 in 10 innings.

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - BobK - 02-17-2023

Beat Georgia thanks Dan with a complete game complete game from Vawter

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - Softball Fan - 02-18-2023

Krause off to a bad start this morning against unranked Charlotte.  Stanford down 0-4 in the second inning.  Vawter comes in for Krause.  Can Stanford score four runs to even this up? Live stats showed temperature 35 degrees F at start of game.

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - martyup - 02-18-2023

2-4, top of 4th

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - martyup - 02-18-2023

Now 5-4 Stanford.  Bottom of the 6th.

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - Softball Fan - 02-18-2023

Vawter shuts down Charlotte the rest of the game and Stanford wins 5-4.  Now Stanford plays Georgia in the second double header in two days.

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - martyup - 02-18-2023

Stanford and Georgia are playing right now.  We're up 1-0 in the bottom of the 2nd.

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - Softball Fan - 02-18-2023

Behind the pitching of new team star NiJaree Canady, Stanford beats Georgia 3-0.  Canady allowed 3 hits and one base on balls.

Two wins against Georgia at Georgia should start getting national attention.

This has been a great showing this weekend in GA that more than makes up for the disappointment
over losing to Duke. Two road wins at GA will be highlights of Stanford's non-conference resume as it
seeks a Top 16 seed in the NCAA tournament for the first time in more than a decade.

Canaday has just been absolutely spectacular.

In an era long ago and far away I had a chance to play a little fast pitch softball while stationed in Germany.  We had a couple of older NCO's who as far as I could tell had never done anything in their Army career but pitch softball, they rarely ever gave up a hit. The other team was often much the same and it all came down to someone either getting lucky, or maybe an error or two.  Our pitcher's supporting cast left a lot to be desired, but he mostly didn't need it.

That's funny, GK.

It’s a sweep in Georgia S Stanford beats St John’s 6-1. Krause then Vawter shutting down St John’s
Sat did is now 8-2 and coming home. Sadly to rain

RE: Stanford Softball 2022-2023 - Softball Fan - 02-19-2023

What a fantastic weekend for the softball team.  In the St John's game Vawter came in relief in the 5th inning; pitched three innings allowing no hits and no walks.

Attendance was 87.  I guess Stanford and St. Johns don't travel well for softball.

I hope this week the team finds a way to get the games in around the rain.  Next game Wednesday 5:00 pm at Santa Clara. Forecast 50% chance of rain.

It definitely was WVB Fan. Team should be really proud of an all-around performance. Reagan had a nice bounceback start to eat four innings with only 1 run allowed, before Vawter absolutely shut the door for her first save.
