Wisconsin is shooting 40% (33% from 3), so depth perception is not an issue that can't be overcome.  The issue is that we suck.  Our 5* sophomore that we were so happy came back is 1/4 with 2 points.

Brandon Angel pulling through for us in 2H. Within 8 with a chance to cut to 6!

RE: MBB: Wisconsin/Stanford - old spanish trail - 11-11-2022

Cold as can be. Background like playing in the park. M Jones finding competition a bit tougher than last game. All struggling from distance. Spencer quicker even than last year. Angel continues to improve. Ingram stuck in neutral. Silva still trying to do too much.

It’s those Torrey Pines guys JJJ

I thought it was the #23 and his mom playing VB for Hawaii. :)

RE: MBB: Wisconsin/Stanford - needle - 11-11-2022

Stanford down by 7 w/12 minutes to go, but it feels like they are playing 10 times better than in the first half.

RE: MBB: Wisconsin/Stanford - marchballer - 11-11-2022

Unclear to me if this team has some real shooters. Feels like all our points are going to come from the paint with our size.

RE: MBB: Wisconsin/Stanford - old spanish trail - 11-11-2022

All the bigs look better than last year, except maybe Ingram. I dont worry about him in conference. Silva and mcDonnell look the same though Silva with more heft. M Jones having trouble getting free. There are some good players here, but they are 1-12 on 3.

RE: MBB: Wisconsin/Stanford - BobK - 11-11-2022

Much better now only down 5

S Jones, Angel and Ingram can shoot. M Jones can shoot but will need to work to get free. Raynaud can shoot but shouldn't dribble. OConnell and Silva meh... so far tonight anyway.

RE: MBB: Wisconsin/Stanford - needle - 11-11-2022

Much better, but you don’t win going 1-13 from three.

RE: MBB: Wisconsin/Stanford - old spanish trail - 11-11-2022

Agree with announcers that Ingram looks content to set up others. Instructions?

They can chalk up poor shooting to background and move on.

RE: MBB: Wisconsin/Stanford - burger - 11-11-2022

The offense just looks so terrible.  Even ignoring the bad shooting, we are not getting good looks or running plays to get open shots.  I've been saying this about Haase for like five years now.

I will always root for our guys.  But every loss brings us closer to getting a competent coach.

RE: MBB: Wisconsin/Stanford - BostonCard - 11-11-2022

Our field goals finally caught up to our turnovers (15 apiece), and though we have not let Wisconsin pull further away, given that we started the second half in a 12 point hole, this is too little too late.

So agree re no plays. S Jones shoots best from pick or screen or just being open. he doesn't have a step back or other move to free himself. M jones so far looks the same. But, has there been one screen in this game?

RE: MBB: Wisconsin/Stanford - magnus - 11-11-2022

Unlike previous years, this wasn't an early season out of conference win.

Maybe we'll be inverted this year.

After Wisconsin also shot cold from the same side in the second half,  probably something to the sightlines argument.   Doesn't excuse the result though.

Watching Stanford try to score was like seeing how the sausages in the sausage race get made.

I need a beer.

Even if you benchmark it to Wisconsin's 25% three point shooting, nothing excuses going 1/16 from 3 pt range.  That's a sub-10% 3pt shooting percentage.

Didn't get to watch it but reading the stream here it looks like not much has changed from other Haase teams against quality competition...

I will get to see up close next week since I got free tickets for the SDSU game. Hopefully they play better than it sounds like they did tonight.

Might actually pay to see a game or two this year

If you read only this board your comment would be 100% accurate.

That's not true; if you read this board you'd be aware that we are also a golf school (women's especially, but also men's), a tennis school (again, mostly women's), a volleyball school (pretty much all women), a gymnastics school (especially the men), a cross country school...

Nationally only a few know that. LOL.
