I finally get to watch a game on our flatscreen and I’m in pain. What is wrong with this team? At this point I’d scrap this starting lineup. Agree with previous comment about Iriafen, would add Jump to the list.

No video here as You Tube TV does not offer but have been surviving on Stanford audio plus ESPN game cast when only on PAC-12. No Stanford audio so just watching pathetic turnover by turnover. Has she mixed up lineup already - see Harriel in late first quarter?

This is actually worse than the root canal at Cal. Every team we play is using the same defensive scheme that Charmin Smith cooked up for us and we simply have to find a way of defeating it. They double or triple Brink, keep Jones from coming into the pain, blanket Jump and sag off everyone else. We simple must hit jump shots consistently. Demetre finally hit a couple but we need consistency and a lot more.

We are losing 19-24 at halftime.
Our offense was better in the second quarter, scoring 15, but after a 4-pt first quarter, it wouldn't take much to have an improvement.
Brink is our leading scorer at 7 points, but she is ice cold from the field (2/10) and as a team, we are shooting under 30%. We've cleaned up the turnovers, limiting ourselves to just one after coughing it up six times in the first 10 mins. of the game.
We were doing pretty well defensively until USC scored 5 quick points including a buzzer beater to expand the lead at half, but giving up 24 points in a half is not a hemorrhaging defense.
Win or lose this game, opposing coaches have found an Achilles' heel to our offense and Tara will need to spend the week finding countermeasures or else we could be going through this every game.

The scouting report is very clear on Stanford. We want to get the ball inside and Jump is our only reliable 3-point or mid-range jump shooter. So just clog clog clog the lane and quadruple team the post players and only guard Jump. The other team is daring us to hit 3's or mid-range jump shots. So we need to put in the players (around Brink and Jones) who can do that the most effectively i.e. Demetre.
