This was a good Tara presser. She was much more "chatty' per se than normal. More thoughtful, thorough answers, I thought. You could tell she is taking Ole Miss very seriously. I don't think our team will overlook them. Hopefully, that message resonates with the team and we play well.

What a contrast between the MS players and the Stanford players.

You absolutely HAVE to watch our student athletes speaking about Tara, but wait until you here Emma-Nnopu discussing "the nice girls from Stanford." My confidence in this team just went up after hearing her rejoinder!
Tara seemed almost dour, deadly serious. "Didn't sleep last night. They are a very experienced group, didn't see a freshman on their roster. They took Gonzaga apart last night. We are going to have to play very well."
She noted Brink practiced very well today. A reporter asked about whether she would be limited in minutes, and she said not only Brink but "everyone is day to day."
"Rebounding is key. We can't be the nice girls from Stanford."
"Coaching is not giving candy to players, it's making corrections, and helping them reach their potential."
Tara was asked to reflect on her first NCAA tournament game with Stanford--an overtime win in Montana, in which Jennifer Azzi was a sophomore and Jos Tinkle's mother played for Montana.
Just watched the student parts of this, fascinating. Agree, brobdingnagian contrast between the Ole Miss players and the Stanford three. Interesting choices of which ones -- Agnes, Elena, and Fran. All three were reasonably articulate, something that the Ole Miss two were not. One comment I really liked, almost a throwaway, came from Fran when asked about her major and dealing with finals coming up. She said in commenting on balancing time and the demands of being student-athletes, "We're students first." Wow! Can't imagine that comment coming from players at many other schools.

No need to denigrate the Miss players, methinks. (Not intended for you, BC)

So far, no upsets today in the 5 finished games. Utah and LSU also lead. I hope Stanford keeps it rolling for the upper seeded teams.

I thought the Ole Miss players did fine in the interview. The questions were dumb. The players did a good job with useless questions.

Agree, Softball. Better statement than mine.

All players, including Brink and Harriel, are warming up. Brink is doing a lot of stretching on the side, also taking shots.

If so, the others have a different pov. For than I do. One of the reasons I can be a fan of Stanford WBB. Is that the players are students who take their education seriously. I see sports as an addition to education in the classroom, not the other way around. If/when that changes at Stanford, I'm gone

13 points in the first Q. That's not going to cut it. Poor shot selection and missed shots. This could be our last game.

We are down 13-18 after one quarter. We already turned the ball over 5 times, allowing Ole Miss to have 7 more shot attempts.
They are shooting the ball decently (40%) and getting the midrange jumpers that we have been fearing.
We are shooting 46.7% but we are in a deficit due to the shot attempt disparity.

They are making everything from foul line extended and we back off

3 of the turnovers were offensive fouls. I didn't see the one on Cam. The one on Indya was real but not much to it. The one on Haley seemed really questionable.
