That appears to be correct as I type.

Stanford has a pretty good record retaining recruits drafted at this level or lower (i.e. higher numbered rounds), but individuals are individuals.

Both Rios and Matthews went sooner than I had seem them projected on various web sites. That's good news for them. There were a lot of juniors on this past Stanford team so it will be very interesting to see which (if any) return. Presumably none that are already drafted.

Thru 5 rounds no Stanford commits have been drafted.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2023-2024 - BobK - 07-10-2023

Now thru 6 rounds and no Stanford commits drafted

Dixon and Bruno both drafted in the 7th round

RE: Stanford Baseball 2023-2024 - StanfordMatt - 07-10-2023

Carter Graham in the 8th to the Reds.

Fingers crossed on the incoming class staying intact!

RE: Stanford Baseball 2023-2024 - BobK - 07-10-2023

Park also in the 8th round

And Dowd in the 8th round

Well, that was a great 20 or so picks for Stanford players and a bittersweet stretch for those of us that might be a little selfish wanting to see some returners among the bunch. Yet another reminder how special the bonus year we got out of Mathews was! The core that got the program back to Omaha regulars is essentially gone. Thanks to these guys for the wildly entertaining roller-coaster ride they provided every June. Best of luck in the pros!

No Bowser yet

Looks good for our commits. I’d be shocked if any of our commits will go pro at this point.

It will be interesting to see if Bowser stays at Stanford. Given that most of the guys in his class are moving on, he may feel some internal pressure to try to make it as a free agent. (They do that in baseball, don't they?) Of course, he'd probably be well served to try to improve his game - most notably, reducing the swing and misses - by staying at Stanford. Personally, I'd want to reduce the amount of time spent in the minors as much as possible.

Without looking I’d guess most of his class will be back. Or starters for sure but as Srs next year

Interesting. Someone had posted that guys tend to jump if they're taken in the first ten rounds. Hopefully, we have guys who buck that trend!

Ok 4 Jrs not drafted. That’s it

Montgomery will enter the portal. Looking for the big bucks

Now that's a blow.

On another note; notable juniors not yet drafted:
Drew Bowser, Brandt Pancer, Tommy O'Rourke

Another possible starter-returner would be Owen Cobb. I don't think he'll be drafted and should have another year of elligibility due to COVID.
However, I am just spinning this out of thin air. I have no idea if Cobb would actually be interested in hanging around, or if he already has graduated (which would then require admission to a grad program). And as a spring sport it would mean hanging around for another three quarters.
The same would hold for any senior, though no others started more than a game or two.

Does anyone know what kind of money a guy like him could command for a season at a place like LSU? I would assume whatever that single-season payment is would be relative chump change compared to the kind of money he'll get as a likely top-10 draft pick. But, hell, maybe they're doling out crazy money.

No idea, but would love to hear.

OUCH!!!

This one hurts big time. He and Moore were going to be the foundation of our offense next year

RE: Stanford Baseball 2023-2024 - BobK - 07-11-2023

Reese on the LSU WBB team is at about $1.3 Million. LSU just had their baseball players go 1-2 in the draft,
That's not chump change
