IMO Hargaugh agreed to the suspension because it will stop the B1G investigation. That means he will be able to coach in the post-season because the NCAA will move too slowly to prevent it. Of course Michigan needs to defeat tOSU to qualify, but Harbaugh probably thought he wasn't going to get the injunction and this was "plan B".

IMO it is very probable Hargaugh will receive a "Show Cause Penalty" from the NCAA related to the climate of violations he has allowed/fostered in his program, some of which he directly participated in. This penalty will be similar to the one Chip Kelly received at Oregon, and Harbaugh will do as Kelly did, preempt the punishment by taking a NFL job.  JH personally apparently did a few relatively minor things but then he lied about it. That was an ongoing issue that was not yet resolved. The "spygate" situation has already caused one coach to resign and the linebacker coach to get fired. Even if that is the extent of it (which is improbable), JH has made himself no friends on the NCAA enforcement front.  He will get no slack. JH just wants to win his National Championship and move on. He is moving on in any case.

I like the part where Michigan says that consistent with its “commitment to integrity” it will take all appropriate actions. Were that not so sad it would be funny.

There’s a comment from the Michigan GM, which is essentially along the lines of yeah we got caught and punished, but everybody does it so it’s coming your way. A ***** you statement if I’ve ever heard one.

I can’t stand Ohio State. But I think I’ll actually root for them against Michigan this year.

Corrupt or sloppy, that is the question. Either way, JH is almost definitely gone. He has too many enemies to get any "benefit of the doubt" at this point. He is "the boss", and it is his program. The evidence so far suggests a booster provided significant funding, although other deny that. In any case, this was a "large" and expensive effort that passed under the radar of the head coach, unless the head coach was actually complicit. As others have asked, did nobody wonder where all this good data was coming from? Either way, JH gets the blame.

I dunno.  If I were to root for something to happen in that game it would be for Godzilla to crawl out of Lake Erie and then stomp its way onto the field.

Short of that, I guess I would root for one team to absolutely blast the other to kingdom come -- it doesn't matter who, just to ensure that the loser has no chance to make the playoff -- and then for Iowa to tan the hide of the winner in the B1G championship game like they did to the Buckeyes in 2017.

In situations like this our family simply roots for stadium collapse. The cause of said collapse is not specified. Godzilla would do.

As an alternative, I would hope Michigan would win against tOSU. I don't want JH to have the excuse they lost because he was not allowed to coach them. Then they can lose the B1G championship game with him on the sidelines with no excuses. Failing that, I hope they are defeated in their first CFP game, preferably by the PAC-12 representative. I really don't want an FSU-Georgia (or a Michigan-Georgia) final.

With the "normal" SEC-B1G-ACC representatives being present, the PAC-12 really needs Texas to lose another game. Otherwise, Washington is the only PAC-12 school that has a clear path to the CFP. A one-loss Oregon, even with a win against Washington in the PAC-12 championship, would not be a "lock" against a one-loss Texas. IMO Texas would get the nod, not because they are necessarily a better team but because they are a bigger draw.

Of course, given the historical PAC-12 tendency to eat it's young, OSU will win out and nobody will go to the CFP from the PAC-12 :-).

The panel determined that a suspension for one additional game was appropriate. Therefore, Moore also will be suspended for the first game of the 2026-27 season. Apart from the three-game suspension, Moore is not prohibited from engaging in coaching or other athletically related activities during the show-cause period.
