What's everyones final prediction for seeding, placement, and who else ends up in our NCAA pod? Knowing that Charlie Creme is typically never right (although I love his predictions), here's my top two seeds in each region.
Albany: South Carolina, Ohio State
Portland: Iowa, UCLA
Albany: USC, LSU
Portland: Stanford, Texas
I also wonder if Oregon State ends up as a #3 seed in Portland, would they be in our pod (if we are playing there) or the other. They would bring a large crowd and if in our pod, we could end up playing them for a 4th time this season (if they upset the 2 seed).

I think it's more likely that both USC and Stanford end up in Portland. And if USC is a higher #1 than Stanford, which is possible, they will definitely be in Portland. Also, highly likely that OSU is in Portland, tho in which regional, unclear

I think it's going to go . . .
I keep saying UCLA and Iowa paired up as well as USC and LSU given the can't be in the same brackets as other Pac-12/SEC teams. I think the committee will give the nod to USC as the 3rd overall #1 given their strong finish and Texas over Stanford, also given their strong finish. Historically, the committee has given teams that have won their conference tournaments a slight edge. I like being in the same bracket as Texas and NC State, in fact I think this would be a great bracket for us, other than being on the same side as South Carolina.
Left Side
Albany
#1 South Carolina
#2 Ohio State
#3 Oregon State
#4 Utah
Portland
#1 Texas
#2 Stanford
#3 NC State
#4 Colorado
Right Side
Albany
#1 Iowa
#2 UCLA
#3 Notre Dame
#4 Virginia Tech
Portland
#1 USC
#2 LSU
#3 UConn
#4 Indiana

Will be interesting to compare this to what we see tomorrow. I think this looks plausible, tho I do still predict OSU in Portland, perhaps in bracket with USC.
For another Pac 12 team -- Arizona prospects looking possible. Princeton is about to beat Columbia, so Ivy may be a one-team conference, in which case there's room for an at-large place for Arizona. Fingers crossed on that. None of the rest of the finals today or tomorrow are from conferences where there's a serious possibility of a second bid if there's an upset.

I would love to see Arizona in. I just have such a hard time thinking a 17-15 team will get the bid though and with a losing conference record of 8-10. I know they have some good wins in there, but hmm I don't know, I think knowing the committee, they will take a team in the SEC or another conference with less quality wins but a .500 finish in their conference and a record of like 19-11, and not 17-15 Arizona.
WBB bracket -
82lsju - 03-17-2024
- OSU #3 seed in South Carolina's bracket, Albany 1
- UCLA #2 seed in Iowa's bracket, Albany 2 (LSU #3 seed and Colorado #5 seed)
- USC #1 seed, Portland 3, Ohio State is #2 and UCONN is #3
- Texas #1 seed, Portland 4, we're #2, NC State is #3, Gonzaga is #4

We slipped below Texas and will be a 2 seed. Texas gets the 1 seed.
Losing to USC in our tournament was not good, but losing to Arizona was probably more impactful.
We play Norfolk State, then the winner of Iowa State/Maryland.
If we advance and seeds held, we would then play:
North Carolina State in the sweet sixteen
Texas in the elite 8. But note that Texas is lumped in with Utah, Tennessee, and Gonzaga, and may not cruise.

I’m disappointed we’re a 2 seed
But not sure there’s a big difference in the end
Either a 1 or 2 we (likely) ultimately have to get thru Texas
And we get to stay on west coast

I like our road to the Final 4. We should have been a 1 seed but can use that snub as motivation. I would much rather be a 2 seed than trade places with Iowa. That bracket is TOUGH with LSU and UCLA.

Arizona makes the play-in. Stanford #2 seed in Portland Region Four with a potential Elite 8 match-up with (grinding teeth)…Texas.

After last year, we ought to recognize that we should not get carried away and look too far ahead. But I will be cheering for Gonzaga and Utah to take out Texas and Tennessee. I would welcome a rematch with either of them, though they would both be difficult.
RE: WBB bracket -
Hoops9092 - 03-17-2024
I, too, like our path to the Final Four and am glad we avoided the likes of LSU, UConn, etc.
I think Iowa has a very tough route. Colorado could knock them out in the Sweet 16, LSU/UCLA in the Elite Eight. Poor UCLA, looking like another year with another tough path.
I'll be rooting for USC to do well. They may have to go through UConn or a rematch with Ohio State in the Elite Eight. Exciting.

I’m not mad at our bracket either. Glad we avoided the dangerous 3 seeds (LSU or UConn). LSU and UCLA is a pretty epic Sweet Sixteen matchup. Both teams were preseason final four candidates.

Jenna Brown is on the Notre Dame roster as a grad, but I don't think she's actually played this season. And, I don't think TCU made the tournament, so no Emma-Nnopu.
Bob, are you counting coaches on other teams?

The watch party at Maples wasn't too fun, with Stanford's regional announced last and Stanford getting a #2.
Anyone know when we find out which days we host on? I have a friend who wants to come, but she only has Friday off.

While I usually root for them if they're not playing us, I wouldn't relish a matchup with Gonzaga in Portland. It would nearly be a home game for them.
I feel bad for OSU not getting to play in Portland, though, :P
