As a general point, if you’re old enough to go to war, go to prison, get married and vote, you’re not a kid. Does that mean college students don’t deserve to be cut some slack at times? No. We all deserve to be cut some slack. But they’re not kids.

Disagree.  I taught college econ for 37 years.  Your statements do not correspond to my experience.
