I'm a little pissed off that Stanford isn't ranked in the top 25. I think KP should also be miffed. Does anyone really truly believe that there are 25 teams that are better than Stanford. I hope this snubbing gives our players extra motivation. I think KP will prove to the critics that they were dead wrong in keeping the Stanford Cardinal womens basketball team out of the rankings to start the season.

There is a very serious question raised here and I hope it is being addressed. I think a new coach can do it more easily than a legend. “What was it about our program that made some great players want to leave it?” Obviously NIL, or lack thereof was a big part of it. I suspect style of play was part of it…the vibe I get about this years team is that they plan to play looser with great flexibility as to who takes the shot. And with respect to the legend, I think there comes a time when the age difference is just too great to bridge the communications gap.
I have no insights into the players who left or the program that anyone else does not have. I’m not claiming to be right.
I would like to hear what others think, though, as I am convinced that if we don’t understand what the problem was and don’t fix it, we will not be a big time program again .
In regard to Betts, there was a poster on this site who I believe was a relative of Betts. He constantly posted the main issue of contention was playing time. Also he vaguely implied Betts and her parents felt Tara didn't appreciate her potential talent and the desire for more game time to improve.
I agree it would be good to know if there was a systemic problem within the WBB program to cause players to look elsewhere but would venture to guess every player left for different reasons.

I think all the freshmen are warming up. Seems like everyone is healthy if I read this correctly.

Heal is not going to play they said. Slow start for our offense. Too many 3 attempts IMO. I'd like to see some post plays.

who is streaming this game? We are finding it on ESPN through our disney+ but when we log in, ESPN says we do not have access. Can't get a free FUBO trial because we did that before.

Oh, noooo. But not surprising. About a century ago (well, June 3, 2018) Stanford baseball played CSU Fullerton. The home plate umpire was Brandon Cooper. Click here to read Shotgun Spratling's coverage in the LA Times. Some relevant quotes:
“[Starting CSUF pitcher Tiler] Bibee ran with the opportunity and a lenient strike zone from home plate umpire Brandon Cooper.”
“Bibee struck out 11, including eight batters that refrained from swinging at strike three. He worked both sides of the plate, getting called strikes on pitches an extra inch or five outside of the edges.”
Two years ago, Cooper showed up umpiring in the post-season. Like many bureaucrats, NCAA officials are never fired.

We have 9 threes before the half. We aren't even trying to get the ball into the paint. I guess if they aren't going to guard us beyond the arc, might as well shoot.

The Stanford record for 3 point baskets in a game is 16. We have 12 at the half. That record is going down tonight. Harriel and Clardy are a combined 7-7 from beyond the arc. That bodes well for this season I would say.
At the half we have 14 assists on 15 made FGs. That's how we are going to counter our lack of size this season. Whatever KP is doing to improve our shooting . . . is working.
The halftime score is 50-22.

Tess Heal seems not to have dressed. Great to see Clardy showing a jump shot. Amazing 3 point shooting. I would like to Nunu go inside more.

At the end of 3 quarters its 78-34. Stanford only made 2 threes on 5 attempts in the 3rd Q, so they now sit on 14. They need 3 more threes to break the record.
