11 in this quarter is looking like a stretch. 0 threes combined from both teams. This is painful.

This is terrible basketball.

Iwas thinking same thing

The announcers are very generous in their description of the game so far.

I was thinking same thing. sad.

Bosgana flashes the talent that is often kept in the bag

Stanford has 9 more rebounds than points scored. 28 rebounds, 19 points.

Pitt playing some good D, but that's no excuse for us going 0-1000 on 3s.

On the other end, Pitt looks inept on offense, but I trust our D has something to do with that.

I’m going out on a limb. The final score will be higher than 38-28.

At the half, both teams are:

0 for 28 from three!

Good grief.

Too bad we don't get 1/2 point for hitting the rim on 3s. Our percentage of hitting the rim is a lot higher than Pitt's, I think. So many air balls the band isn't bothering to chant anymore.

This may be the season of negative records.  There were 50+ fouls called in the LSU/Oklahoma game.

Agara hasn't been effective so far tonight.  In the first half she had 4 points and 2 rebounds.  She is our team leader and we need her to step it up.

Since when has Deme3 missed 5 threes in a row?

This is a weird and ugly game.

and only one player for each team fouled out....

Hopefully the second half will look like this for Stanford:

Does Jeanette Pohlen have any eligibility left?

I showed up at what I thought was halftime to see a score of 19-14 on the scoreboard on TVs at the entrance and was briefly worried there had been a terrible injury that had delayed the game for 10 or 15 minutes. Then was horrified to realize it was the third quarter.

That said, we've made a lot of treys since I've arrived!

Well, each team has equaled (or exceeded) their first half totals in the third quarter.

41-34 end of third.
Bosgana is playing well tonight.

Current Trends for Stanford
FGs: 0 OF LAST 5
FGs: 1 OF LAST 7
NO FGS LAST 5:44

(But FTs have been hitting, 10 for 10.)

Up 14 pts with 28 sec.  Whew.

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Pitt, Thursday 7pm; preview and game thread - Hieronymus - 01-30-2025

Why is Pitt fouling? This is over. Good enough tonight and they needed that win. Guards did most of the damage today. Pitt still hasn’t hit a 3 - 0-15. Ouch.

Hey, our three-point percentage defense was pretty good.  Pitt was oh-for-fifteen.
