Luke Kuechly

RE: BC Game Thread - Mick - 09-13-2025

Well that was nice...69 yards to a tight end who had four catches for eight yards until that play.

Great TD!  17-10...the comeback starts NOW.

RE: BC Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 09-13-2025

AND ROUSH WITH LOTSA YAC for a 70-yard TD pass.  Gulbranson gets yards on that.
BC player missed it and Roush took it to the House !    YUM!
Did not need to mess with the red zone.  Fine.
BC 17, STAN 13 at half --  "Like"

RE: BC Game Thread - thunder_chik - 09-13-2025

17-13.  Shoulda gone for 2.

RE: BC Game Thread - Mick - 09-13-2025

AND A PICK SIX by Colin Wright!!!!!!!!

Your Stanford Cardinal IN THE LEAD!!!!  19-17

RE: BC Game Thread - thunder_chik - 09-13-2025

Loving it, LOVING IT!!!!

RE: BC Game Thread - Mick - 09-13-2025

And 12 players on the field, five yard penalty.

At least Stanford scored two touchdowns in 19 seconds....

RE: BC Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 09-13-2025

OMG...!   PICK SIX by alert Wright with short yardage.  !!   BAM!
Amazing...  BC 17, STAN 20 at the half.

RE: BC Game Thread - PalmTree - 09-13-2025

WHAAAA?!?!?! WHOOT!!!!!!

RE: BC Game Thread - Mick - 09-13-2025

EXTRA POINT IS GOOOOOOOOOOD!

20-17 with 1:29 left in the half....

SkiBum80 - SkiBum80 - 09-13-2025

Wow wow wow
Colin Wright earned every inch of that pick 6

RE: BC Game Thread - Mick - 09-13-2025

Don't forget, BC gets the ball at the start of the second half.

SkiBum80 - SkiBum80 - 09-13-2025

Looks like our D playing prevent defense
Which prevents winning

RE: BC Game Thread - Madera86 - 09-13-2025

Wait, what??? Just a couple of minutes ago, I was complaining that BC had the ball AGAIN after going up 17-6.

RE: BC Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 09-13-2025

All right -- new ball game knotted at 20-20 Halftime

Neither team running the ball.
TOTAL Yards BC: 313, STAN 232
Passing BC: 268, STAN 178
Comp/Att 19/28 11/17
Rushing BC: 45 STAN 54

Two big TOs by Eagles.

RE: BC Game Thread - JJJ - 09-13-2025

Bryce Love in the studio is the good luck charm we needed.

RE: BC Game Thread - fullmetal - 09-13-2025

BC OL is holding like crazy.  Not sure how these refs are qualified to work peewee football much less college football.

I hate how the secondary sits back and can't be close enough to make pass breakups.  Scotty Edwards had a professional PBU that I saw, but everyone else is satisfied with contain or just plain getting beat while Lonergan plays Madden with almost zero defensive pressure (the holding helps BC). If the secondary is that slow, then I guess I shouldn't complain. Need more speed.

I would like the Stanford OL to just punish BC with run plays, but apparently that wouldn't work.  BG is a bit better than last week.  Agreed that throwing short on 4th down is a losing tactic.  Free Emmet Kenney!

RE: BC Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 09-13-2025

Without the two big TOs by BC, they would be up 24 to 6.
If we cannot get pressure on Lonergan in 2H, he will just pick us apart.
His WRs get open with no pressure, and he gets the ball there.

RE: BC Game Thread - needle - 09-13-2025

Tafiti, Stanford's almost-a-star DE, in street clothes. Fattig on the OL goes down, obviously will not return.

And yet..

Full credit to the opportunistic Stanford defense for being, uhh.. opportunistic, again keeping the team in the game when the offense is not exactly marching the ball down the field.

I'm glad that Gulbranson is having a good game. He clearly is able to roll to his right and deliver an accurate ball. Roush is just a very good athlete, so he definitely can do very-good-athlete things, like run for TDs. But this does not an offense make.

The key stat, if you believe that Stanford can win this game--I do not, sadly--is yards per carry. The Stanford running backs have 14 carries for 47 yards, which is a not-even-mediocre 3.4 yards per carry. Stanford must get that number up around 5.0 for the second half to really have a chance.

My eyes see a good BC offense that's had couple of bad plays, and a bad Stanford offense that's had a couple of good plays. I think the moral victory is this offense getting to 30 points (which I would not bet on). But, we shall see.

Elsewhere:  NDAM gets clipped 40-41 with under 1min by Aggies on late TD in South Bend.

No joy in Muddville tonight.  Irish drowning sorrows opening 0-2.   Just so sad.
