Pitt just upset a ranked Florida State, so that is looking much less likely of a win for Stanford now. UNC and kal are still potentials. But who knows.

Does Franklin survive this, and if so, for how long? I can see not firing him in the season, but at this point it seems pretty clear he isn't the guy to take Penn State to even another Big-10 championship, let alone a CFP championship. He has had lots of years to do it, and has got close a few times, but his teams always seem to fall short when it really "counts".
Well, I was wrong again :-(. Franklin didn't survive and will be paid around $50 million to go away. And Kal worries about Wilcox's buyout. I am frankly surprised they pulled the trigger. That is a LOT of money, and it seems unlikely this year can be salvaged by changing coaches. Waiting till the end of the year would save 7.5 million, but I guess in today's College Football, that is chump change.

NOLES A HEAVY FAVORITE, DESPITE THREE LOSS STREAK
So, FLST opens a 17.5 point fave to homedog Stanford. Gotta bet a big $880 on FLST to win a measly $100.
https://sportsbook.fanduel.com/football/ncaa-football-games/florida-state-@-stanford-34818537?tab=popular
Noles bring a murderous TOP Offense in ACC, averaging 536 yards a game, and 44 points, in a balanced attack. Speed.

Looks to be nice weather, and a fast track. Maybe 45 to 20, and they cover the spread?
What is the over / under on sacks by FLST? 7 or 8? They will blitz a lot. Gulbranson should be able to throw,
if he can shoot quickly.
Their Senior QB Castellanos is a bad match up for us, who throws well enough and can scramble. We need turnovers to be in the game.
FLST did a nice job on Bama to open the season, but after three losses (all one-score games) will come in ANGRY.
-- They lost @VIRG in OT by 46-38. Then to #2 MIAM by only six points, 22-28. And were leading PITT 24-21 entering Q4.
PITT outdueled them in Tallahassee, against an inconsistent FLST secondary -- reminds me of U$C; they don't like to play Defense.
To get to a decent Bowl, Noles can see winning the next six; might be favored in each of them, with CLEM and FLOR both down.

Let's hope the #ACCAfterDark black hole time zone difference knocks FLST down a peg in the 2H. With a 10:30pm EDT kickoff time, those body clocks could be shutting down just like the BC body clocks might have in the second half of the game.

FSU is far more talented than Stanford, but maybe they hear echoes of last year and just decide to pack it in on the flight. Or maybe Norvell gets fired this week. He is probably coaching for his job against Stanford. That would be as bad as losing to UCLA and Northwestern back to back. L
Stanford beating Miami would a lot like beating USC as 41-point underdogs. But Reich isn't Harbaugh. L
Pitt looks good. Don't see Sun Bowl redux. L
I was in the stands when Todd Husak and Coy Wire each had touchdown passes and won a thriller against the Holes in Palo Alto. They'll take that on the road this year against that dysfunctional mess. W
Ah Big Game when anything can happen. Like Cal's streak continues. (They are simply better - will be interesting to see if postseason is on the line for them or not.) L
Notre Dame. Season can't end fast enough. L
So 3-9 because that's what Stanford does. And in all honesty swap UNC for FSU, just because.

Temple does it too. Like Stanford, they were 3-9 every year from 2021 - 2024. Temple is 3-3, they'd have to go 0-6 to finish 3-9 again.
I think the two teams hold the NCAA record for identical record for the most seasons in a row, but I haven't investigated it.
