I thought Talley is Class of 2027. Isn’t she a junior in HS this year?

You are right! That's my error. We'll just have to wait another year for Talley.

This is such an informative post I'm going to bump it for tomorrow.

RE: Women’s Golf - Spike - 04-01-2026

Is there a team component to this tournament or just individual?

RE: Women’s Golf - OCcardinal - 04-01-2026

Ganne now +5, 1 stroke out of last place.  It's good to see she is healthy enough to play after having sat out some college tournaments, but the reigning US Amateur winner is clearly not herself.  Fingers crossed she's back in game shape by NCAAs.

RE: Women’s Golf - paloalto - 04-01-2026

The Golf Channel is repeating this first round broadcast four times before the second round tomorrow.

RE: Women’s Golf - Spiny_Norman - 04-02-2026

Anne Walker gets some nice screen time and Stanford women's golf gets a nice advertisement in this tv spot that is running during the ANWA.
https://www.ispot.tv/ad/glFO/bank-of-america-power-to-do-anne-walker

The Stanford program schedules around ANWA every year to give their players plenty of prep time before and some decompression time afterward. I think that has been one reason for their success at recruiting top juniors.

RE: Women’s Golf - Spiny_Norman - 04-02-2026

Stanford is all over the leaderboard after 2 of the 3 rounds of ANWA.

1. Talley - 11
T2. Ortengren -10
T4. Revuelta -6
T14. Martin Sampedro -4

Missed cut
Xu
Fang
Ganne
Oh

All players in the field play a practice round tomorrow at Augusta. The final round is Saturday. NBC will broadcast live from 9 am to noon pacific.

RE: Women’s Golf - Spiny_Norman - 04-03-2026

A nice article on Stanford's program. This team is the model of what athletics at Stanford is all about. Not just achievement on the field and in the classroom, but personal growth as well. I think Anne Walker is the best coach on campus right now.

RE: Women’s Golf - oldalum - 04-04-2026

Live video of the final round starts at 9 AM Pacific, and it looks like Golf Channel will have coverage this evening.
Future Stanford golfer Talley birdied 3 of the first 4 holes to open up a 3-shot lead over our current golfer Ortengren, with Revuelta and Martin Sampedro currently tied for 7th.

I wonder if she is going to go pro à la Michelle Wie.

RE: Women’s Golf - oldalum - 04-04-2026

Probably not, after her fade on the back 9. She'll likely benefit from some time at Stanford with Coach Walker (who was featured in a Bank of America commercial during the broadcast!) and the rest of the team. Her playing partner, Ortengren, also had a poor back 9 and ended up in a 5-way tie for fourth place. On the bright side, Revuelta played with and matched the winner's final round 68, but started 4 strokes behind her and finished alone in second place. And Martin Sampedro finished with a 69, ending in 9th place. So 3 current/future Stanford players in the top 10!

I count 4…

RE: Women’s Golf - Spiny_Norman - 04-04-2026

Now the team has to come down from the high of playing ANWA and Augusta and reset mentally and re-adjust their games to be prepared for ACCs, regionals and NCAAs. It's really a tall order to peak for this event and then to try to achieve peak performance again in 4-6 weeks.

ACCs are up first, starting April 16, a week from Thursday.
