How much would a banquet cost? Perhaps they're saving that money to have more to pay players.

H*ll, if they're using banquet $ for pay-to-play/stay packages instead, they could still throw in a cheese platter or two as part of the offer - you never know.....

I thought the banquet was a fund raiser, not a program expense. Don't guests have to pay to attend?

Maybe the powers-that-be don't want to answer uncomfortable questions.

Lots going on right now stay tuned
My point as that the portal opens a week from Monday, so there is a lot to occupy the mind of the coaching staff, even though it is "ostensibly full roster, too early for official visits..."
My guess is that either the staff is engaged in a full court press to keep players from going into the portal or (more likely) they know one or more players will be transferring out and have to make desperate portal moves to replace them.
Regardless, I imagine a lot will happen between now and April 20 when the portal closes.
Of course, maybe I'm being too narrow minded, and "lots going on" is much more than transferring players; maybe the people on this board will get their wish and lots going on refers to a coaching transition, or something even crazier. Guess all will be revealed.
Alas, Bob's phrasing sounds ominous, and I don't think this season has conditioned us to expect great things to happen.

Yes they do. But not enough to raise really significant funds.

Duke is leading UCLA by 8 at the half. Lots of turnovers and neither team has a three. Betts may not be enough to make the Final Four. Let’s see if UCLA plays better in the 2nd half.

Bruins now in the lead 47-45 with 2:37 in the 3rd
RE: WBB news -

Bruins turn it around and pour it on, 70-58 Betts led with 23 points. Both teams were cold from 3, UCLA 14% and Duke 8%.
Possible rematch with Texas coming up.

To summarize some discussion from the paid fan board for those who don't subscribe, the women's basketball environment (+ presumably culture) this past season under Paye was not great and did not bring out the best in everybody. Coach Paye clearly felt the pressure to win and didn't respond to that pressure in the best way this season. We should expect possibly 3+ transfers out but nobody knows a number for sure or whom.
As of now, Paye is expected and likely will be back for next season with a depleted roster, poor incoming recruiting class and a losing/lackluster season likely imminent.

Well, okay. But other than that, things look pretty good for next season, right…?

I appreciate some well timed sarcasm
In that spirit, I wonder if there is a Coach “Kyla” Smith available out there willing to take on the challenge of captaining a leaky and drifting ship?

Also, how do you score 870 while being cold from 3?

At 14% 3PT shooting, by hitting 290 of 2071 from beyond the arc? Talk about an up tempo offense.....

This is an odd rumor to me - if nobody knows either the number or who is transferring, why are we necessarily expecting 3+? Because the whole team is unhappy and we just don't know who's SO unhappy they'll leave?
What's funny to me is that by all accounts it seemed like the players (other than maybe Lara) really liked Kate, seemed happy both on and off court, and we're fairly glowing in their press conferences. Now maybe everyone was just acting the part during the season, but it really stood in contrast to other teams who had tough seasons (like Tennessee), where the press conferences very much evinced unhappiness.
