if he's out for the season, we may not win any games after Elon.

So you assume that we will beat Elon? LOL!!!!

i see what you did there.

Thank you msqueri for the thoughtful (and sobering) analysis.

The next two weeks will go a long way in telling us whether we are lucky to be 2-4 or, hopefully, that we have underperformed in our blowout losses and are better than the advanced stats indicate.

The mimimum here is a comfortable win against Elon (no doubt in the 4th quarter) and a competitive game against NC State. A nail biter this week or a blowout loss next week are a sign that something is rotten here. I know many have come to that conclusion already, and we will see if they're right.

Elijah Brown will start for UW Saturday.

RE: Sunday afternoon thoughts - Notre Dame - jacket3ree - 10-13-2026

So does that mean UW is in a world of hurt or we just a totally garbage program now that we can't hang on to starters that wind up at Auburn/FSU and Washington? Or both? Or neither?

RE: Sunday afternoon thoughts - Notre Dame - BobK - 10-13-2026

Plus the two now at BYU

Both can be true.  UW is 3-3 but 0-3 in the Big Ten.

We certainly may not. Analytics would predict one more though. The second half of the schedule is easy, with NC State especially winnable, Cal and SMU live games, and all of the games more than negligible chances. 4-8 still the base case for the season. We don't play a Sagarin top 30 team the rest of the way as things currently stand. Very front-loaded schedule.

And according to ESPN Bracket Projection,
we played TWO CFP Semi-finalists in #2 NDAM AND #4 MIAM.

Demond Williams Jr. is hurt. If he were able to play it isn't probable Brown would be starting. That said, Brown hasn't been horrible in relief. As BC points out UW isn't a very good team, at least so far. Daniels at FSU is pretty similar to what he was at Stanford. About 50-50 TDs to INT. He still isn't really a passing threat. He looks a bit better at FSU than he did at Stanford because of his supporting cast, but even that doesn't make him "good". FSU is 1-2 in conference while Stanford is 1-3.

Both Taylor and Pritchard came in saying that Stanford football was going to return to success through love.  Well . . .

Brown and the Huskies won today against Purdue 38-26

He had a pretty good day, throwing 21/27 for 302 yards and 3 TDs, but also, *gulp* 3 interceptions.

I know some here weren't all that impressed with Brown, but I was sorry he left. He hung in there for 3 years and finally left for someone who would play him. Folks thought he was too short, couldn't run, weak arm, you name it. I thought he set up quickly, had a pretty quick delivery, not an Elway arm, but similar to Purdy's, and never got a good chance. One of his interceptions tonight was on the first play of the game...a deep sideline pass which was slightly under thrown. The other two I think were on the same pattern...slot receiver on a quick crossing pattern in front of the lb'ers. Not sure what he problem was but the lb'ers ( think) intercepted.

I know 0 about Purdue's defense, but he completed pass after pass in the second half. Wish he were still here.

Nice thought, but he wouldn't be playing if Washington's QB1 (Demond Williams ) wasn't injured. It is possible that Brown's performance puts significant pressure on Williams, but as of now Brown is not the "starter".

I know he's injured, but he was also having trouble running the offense according to Huskie fans. Fisch brought Williams with him to Wash and some (many?) thought it's time for change. They got it.
