You are wrong Rando - Redrum - 09-27-2012

At this point Nunes can not execute the Spider,  or the Y  or even the banana

This is completely surreal.  Over here at Quarterback U, QB is the least of our worries.  This season, the worst starter is the QB.  Let's hope he gets better.  Otherwise I'd like to see more of those plays with Hogan.

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - Rando - 09-27-2012

Nunes is not playing well at all. But let's be real, his receivers are not making tough catches. Ertz and Montgomery didn't come up with some catchable balls. A couple of those ball were on the money.

I'm not saying I'm happy with Nunes, but some of the blame can be placed on the wideouts.

The under/over throws are what bother me most.

No question nunes has been awful, but let's not leave out the receivers. Virtually all of them has dropped a catchable pass; Ty Montgomery's streak of screwing up a well-conceived long pass play is at four.

"Come on Montgomery, you've gotta make a play."

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - Leftcoast - 09-27-2012

Arrrrrggh!  Ty dropped another big gainer.  Help your QB out a little guys.

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - Rando - 09-27-2012

Right on cue, Montgomery doesn't come up with a catchable ball.

Our ability to avoid delay of games and burning timeouts to avoid it has been TERRIBLE for the past two seasons under Shaw.

OT - FarmBoy - 09-27-2012

These commentators are terrible. They just keep saying the same damn things.

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - FarmBoy - 09-27-2012

Should we contact the SEC now to get our invitation to the defense only league?

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - JohnR34231 - 09-27-2012

All I can say now.

Is Washington's defense that good, or our offense that bad?

Amazing we're still ahead.

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - Kathy - 09-27-2012

Check that amazement. We're behind.

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - yvonne - 09-27-2012

Game over. No way in hell Nunes drives down and wins the game.

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - Leftcoast - 09-27-2012

Ty drops another one.  How different is this game if Montgomery catches one of those long balls?

Wow. Why don't you turn your TV off then?

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - Leftcoast - 09-27-2012

Still within reach though ... Just need a break here.....................
........ Dang.

A break we didn't get.  <Toilolo overthrown on 4th down>

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - Kathy - 09-27-2012

Interception ... and we ice it with an off-sides penalty.

If the offense doesn't get a lot better... - JohnR34231 - 09-27-2012

......very fast, it's going to be a long season.

And it ain't just Nunes. The running game sucked, the receivers were awful (except for Ertz), and the play calling was terrible.

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - Leftcoast - 09-27-2012

Well, that wasn't much fun.  Six points from our offense won't win many games.

Re: Plenty of parties in the backfield, but - yvonne - 09-27-2012

Nunes is a h--- part of it. You can't have a running game if teams know that they can stack the box because your quarterback can't even complete half his passes. Shaw lost us that game in August.

Quote:<Toilolo overthrown on 4th down>

It appeared on that play that Nunes was supposed to underthrow the ball for Toilolo to come back and catch it.  Watch Toilolo's body language.  He looks ready to shield the defender.  He does not look ready to go up high for a fade.  The one time Nunes was supposed to throw it short and he missed that pass too.
