There's a white version, which is very similar to the yellow.

What's the deal with the grey uniform? I don't like that one. It just looks like a white uniform that turned grey going through the laundry. They grey uniform isn't as ugly as the yellow one; it's just sort of blah. If I were them, I would stick with the blue uniform, or on the road, white jerseys and blue pants. I like the blue one. The other ones don't add anything, IMO.

And, Kal being Kal, they couldn't help themselves - Redrum - 04-11-2013
A lot of the commentary on the K.al boards was about how their own athletic dept. managed to drain the anticipation and excitement from the event by going on and on and on about the high concept of "brand" and branding, even dwelling on the
font of the letters used. It took them, per reports, more than a half hour before they got to the only thing in which people were interested: the actual uniforms. Memo to self. Don't hire Kal planners to organize next event. They could drain the excitement out of anything-- from the dawning of World Peace to the global party after the asteroid
just barely misses earth.
The all-yellow uniforms are...well, it's a contest between "stupid" and "hideous", but will come in handy if they ever play Boise St. on their blue stadium rug. Otherwise, they're OK. I thought the dark blue unis really are the representation of Kal and aren't too bad for a team I reflexively loath.

After seeing all of the new uniforms onstage, it is obvious that Cal has recieved a discount on West Virginia's year-old football costumes--WV is the only team I can think of that has sported the all-yellow look (and it was hideous--link below for the worst college football unis--they look identical to Cal's new togs), and they also trotted out the all-gray look last year. The last PAC-12 team in all gray was WSU--those monstosities defied description and common sense--Cal didn't want to be left out!

Count me disappointed that this didn't make the uniforms.

I liked this description of the Boise State unis:
"These uniforms are what your vomit would look like if you ate a bowl of froot loops and a box of crayons."

During the early 200s, Cal and West Virginia had nearly identical uniforms. Cal has changed its basic design of stripes beginning at the waist and curving in. West Virginia has not.

I can't address the crayon issue, but a long-ago housemate, a Stanford PhD no less, used to eat fruit loops with Hawaiian Punch substituted for milk. He also ran off with all my James Gang albums, so there's that too.
Like the new unis by the way. And dove gray looks pretty sharp generally. Love them on the AFA uniforms.

Judging by this thread, I'd say the fans are overwhelmingly underwhelmed.

What's interesting is the bear logo, the thing the marketing department spent the most time on, is almost universally disliked.

Speaking of the logo, in the reddit thread about the new uniforms someone said that this is the inspiration for it:
