I doubt it, and I hope not. We are (thankfully) not in a position to have to resort to negative recruiting, and generally, I don't think it would help. I would rather that Shaw spend the limited amount of time he has with each recruit reiterating Stanford's strengths.

We rarely lose student-athletes or students period to Kal. Kal is just a pesky nemesis. $C is the archenemy.

For the average fan, it was clearly cause for celebration. For the players he recruited and coached to a lot of wins, my understanding is they were pissed and thought that Tedford had earned more reprieve. Rodgers didn't sign with Ca.l. He signed with Tedford.

When I first read that last sentence I thought you wrote "caned." Still fits.

More ink on TM
Quote:Nevertheless, Montgomery came back to make another one of the eye-catching plays he's made throughout camp. During a red zone period, the third-round pick from Stanford made a leaping grab in the end zone on a fade from quarterback Scott Tolzien over cornerback Quinten Rollins.
So far in camp, Montgomery has caught deep balls using his speed, made defenders miss with his quick-twitch change of direction and now flashed his leaping ability.
I might have to start watching Packers games

The Colts should keep their eye on Ty.

According to the announcers in the preseason game today, Ty is learning a new position, WR, after being a running back at Stanford. I am learning something new every day... ;D (to be fair, he did bulldoze a few UW defenders...)

Just another example of Shaw not being able to figure out which position a player is best suited for ...

Maybe the only highlights they saw were his fly sweeps
Re: Ty Montgomery -

Ty Montgomery's Stanford career stats:
172 receptions
39 rushing attempts
BUT, he did have a whopping 23 rushing attempts his Senior year, and just 61 receptions...
While I was there, this sure was ugly year over year production as a WR:
     R  Yds  Avg TD
2013: 61 958 15.7 10
2014: 61 604 9.9 3Â ***
Then again, *** = Didn't play against Ca.l this year

15 Packers were targetted on passes against the Steelers. None of them were Ty Montgomery (although he did return a punt and a kickoff and he made a tackle). For whatever reason, Montgomery was not part of the offense today.

I was surprised to see that Ty was not involved in the offense, given the loss of Nelson. Hopefully he steps it up going forward.

Looks like Montgomery will be battling for that third receiver spot:

Quote:Montgomery may be slightly behind Janis at this point, but hes compelling nonetheless. The third-round draft pick out of Stanford has impressed during training camp. Hes an explosive athlete who should make an impact on special teams as is, and if he continues to improve, Green Bay will find ways to get him the ball.

Montgomery's lack of playing time in a preseason game may be because the staff has seen enough from him and want to concentrate more on who to keep on the depth chart. Just guessing on the reason.
Re: Ty Montgomery -

Or they don't want to tip their hand too much by featuring all the plays they've drawn up for him.
