Liberty up 6-5 over top seed Texas A& M bottom of 7th. One out

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - M T - 05-18-2025

She's half way to a BIG CYCLE?  (4-run homer, 3-run homer, 2-run homer, 1-run homer)!

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - paloalto - 05-18-2025

Flames burn brightly.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - BobK - 05-18-2025

Liberty wins. Texas A&M was the overall # 1 coached by former Stanford assistant Trica Ford

If Stanford can hold on and beat Oregon, where will this Super Regional be played at?

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - d4cohn - 05-18-2025

Well, the circle has been an adventure this year. Alyssa Houston has given up 2 HR's, but three defensive miscues by Oregon are the difference as Stanford takes a 7-5 lead to the fourth.

TBD. And we have a long way to go to get to the finish line.

Great double play by Stanford. Heads up play by River Mahler and company gets Stanford out of the inning! 7-5 heading to 5th.

Did I hear that a team only has 2 challenges?  Does that mean that Oregon is out of challenges?

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - BobK - 05-18-2025

Only 2 and lost both

I was presuming it would be Liberty.  But I wonder if they submitted a bid to host.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - BobK - 05-18-2025

Had to challenge but looked like obstruction to me.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - PVTree - 05-18-2025

brobdingnagian double play to end the 5th. Need runs to keep ahead of the charging Quackers.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - d4cohn - 05-18-2025

6 outs for Zoe P. 7-6 lead heading to sixth.

Am I correct in understanding that if her feet are inbounds (per the baseline extended), then she is not blocking the plate?

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - PVTree - 05-18-2025

Tied game heading to the 7th inning.

**************

Heading to bottom of the 7th. Still 7-7. Quackers with the chance to end our season.

**************

Single, stolen base, go to third on the throwing error, and a HR ends our season.

Bummer.

This team got absolutely everything out of this season and then some, given the limited number of pitchers on staff.

RE: Stanford Softball 2025 - PVTree - 05-18-2025

Yes, we had a very good offense but lacked the dominant pitcher this year ... The opposite of last year. We need to have an excellent pitcher + 2 above average (good) pitchers to get farther.

We walked more than 100 batters more than last year.  That is a lot of potential runs.  Our pitcher with the most innings thrown walked more than she struck out.  I was told that a good college pitcher can approach 5ks per walk.  We were not close to those kinds of numbers.

Yes we lost Canady I think we all knew that. :)

I hope Stanford can insure they don’t lose the coach.

I have to say that this morning it feels like it was a bad dream but unfortunately it was not.

I think it wasn’t just the pitching, but it was also that Stanford didn’t put in a hosting bid and so arguably didn’t play the series at home.
