RE: Stanford Women’s Volleyball - Softball Fan - 11-30-2021
It seems like they try to spread out the awards across as many players and teams as possible. Miner is PAC-12 FOY which is a prestigious award. She is also on the PAC-12 all-freshmen team.
They may have wanted to carve out a spot on the all-conference team for a senior who is going to graduate. I don't have a problem with that.
Changing the subject, I suspect the Friday tournament match with Iowa State will not be live-streamed. Minnesota doesn't have any incentive to bother streaming it although it would be nice if they did. KZSU doesn't show the match on their radio broadcast schedule. So live stats may be all there is.

Per NCAA Tournament Twitter, all 1st and 2nd Round matches will be shown on the internet-driven ESPN+

Obviously very talented and hard-working. BCG doesn't hire chopped liver.
Four straight honorees from Stanford, wow.

Campbell spent time as an analyst on the Sustainable Investing Solutions team with UBS during the summer of 2021, creating educational pieces on sustainable investing for financial advisors and performing data analysis on UBS's sustainable product offering to find any gaps in the product shelf. The previous summer, she served as an analyst at Anacapa Partners, a search-fund based private equity firm where she researched potential investment opportunities and generated industry-focused analyses to present to the investment team.
Through the years I have followed up on some of the WVB players to see what direction their careers took them. So many of these young ladies ended up in executive positions at companies in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and throughout the country.
I frequently corresponded with Holly's father when she was being recruited in High School. Holly was talking to many WVB programs but Stanford had been her dream school for a long time. Her father said she wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I told him if she graduates from Stanford she won't be a school teacher and she won't be coming back to Austin.
Her father unexpectedly died of a heart attack while lifting weights prior to Holly coming to Stanford. He was her biggest fan and never got to see her play a single game at Stanford.

Let alone win two national championships.

Wow I did not see that last paragraph coming. That's so sad.

Didn't know this, how sad. Similar to A.J. Hinch.

To replace Gary Mano?
I hope it's not Courtney Thompson.

Which one, Mano or Thompson? I’m assuming that Thompson is working closely with Miner, and thus deserves some credit for her success.

It's Mano

So what’s our rotation next year? We only lose Campbell, right? Do people think that Francis will move to Middle Blocker?
Assuming we stay healthy, and progress s expected, this is a team that could do some damage, I think. Defense might still be an issue, but Lougey, Beavin, and Oglive all with another year of experience at the collegiate level, I think could be pretty good in the back row.
Thoughts?

I sure don’t see Francis moving with the two Smiths and Vicini healthy. If L Smith isn’t then maybe as that would leave just two MBers on the roster
Rubin will certainly add to the back row.
Maybe Belardi and Pringle will also. All three to be Frosh played on the top teams in the country.
We lose Campbell but with the Smiths two great replacements.
Be very interesting who the new coach might be. The volunteer might be the new coach. But bet it’s A far more experienced person

I agree.
It would be great to get Jason Mansfield back, but maybe he is happy in Seattle.
He did work with Hambly at Illinois.
It should be someone with at least a few years of experience in DI.
