That was really smooth how she shot that last layup with her left hand. As I always say in a high light reel you never see the twenty shots the player missed and the ten times she turned over the ball. These players look like they are about 12 years old.
To change my topic. Not only has Duke's recruiting gone into a cold spell, it looks like Notre Dame's recruiting has fallen from grace. Hard to predict what drives these cycles up and down.

I am not sure I agree with Notre Dame's recruiting being down. Their on court performance hasn't been great last year and early this year. But they also lack healthy front court players right now. In the class of 2021 they have two top recruits (Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron) who played on the USA team and were both recruited by Stanford.

Notre Dame will really need Betts or Gardiner, or another top post player in 2022, to get themselves back in that top echelon. Those are two Stanford appears to be in good standing with.

Prior to fully updating their rankings, Prospects Nation has updated lists of 5*, 4.5*, and 4* players for 2022. All eight(!) players who've included Stanford on their "final n" lists as shown at the top of this thread are at least 4*, as well as a bunch of the "also mentioned."

What's going on with the "A" names for teenage girls? The top 10 prospects on the 2022 Elite 100 Watch List includes, Ashlyn, Ayanna, Aaliyah, another Aaliyah, Alexia, and Ashlon.

Jackson's commitment to Duke might be added evidence that Kiki Rice and Londyn Jones are silent commits to Stanford.
Stanford wants two guards in this class, but only two,
Rice and Jones seems the likely priorities, Rice for the point, Jones for the versatile shooting guard who can down threes, run the floor, and move to the point.

Thanks for the info, Hulk. How does that square with three of our four current offers out going to post players? (Nnaji, Gardiner, and Betts.) Do we have five offers out and one is just not known? I had thought Tara never extended more offers than she has open slots?

I think we offered Jackson. Otherwise, I'm not clear why she would have listed us among her finalists.
Similarly, I feel confident that Tara does not want both Gardiner and Nnaji,
because they appear to be mirror images (big forwards), and those two plus 6-7 Betts creates an imbalance in the roster.
With Kiana and Anna leaving, Tara must want another true point guard to supplement Van Gytenbeek--e.g, Rice, who probably can defend three positions.
And I assume Tara wants a three point shooter in this class--with Kiana and Anna leaving and Lexie with only one year left.
That shooter has to be Londyn Jones.
I also think Tara covets both Rice and Jones for leadership reasons,
and likes that they've both spent practiced and played for weeks with Gardiner and Betts.
And I assume Gardiner knows Van Gytenbeek, Prechtel and Belibi very well,
from years in Colorado AAU and high school ball.
Adds to the chances of assembling a very cohesive team, fast.
Or so this all seems to me.

Good point on Brown. On the '22 recruits, do we know if the usual time frame persists that the earliest we'll know is likely around May early acceptance? Other than Anna Wilson, it appears that is the case IIRC.

I'm assuming that Jenna Brown, having missed a year in high school and a year at Stanford due to injuries,
isn't likely to become a rotation player here.

My added reason for not expecting Brown to make the rotation
is her performance in her first two years.
And for 2022 recruiting, Brown doesn't address the issue that
Van Gytenbeek and Harriel look like the only two true guards
in Tara's last two recruiting classes, and only VanG has elite credentials.
Emma Nnopu plays like an undersized wing and Bosgana like a big wing.

Nnopu may not be your classic PG, but she will be an impact player. I expect her to be an exceptional defender and rebounder . . . heck, she may even end up one of those "three and D" players you hear so much about in the pros.

I agree with Hulk01 that our recruiting priorities are likely 2 bigs, 1 PG and 1 shooter. We have lots of wings or players who can play wing in our '20 and '21 classes with Emma-Nnopu, Bosgana and Demetre. Seems like we have a great pool of 3 potential bigs and hopefully Rice for the PG role. I'm less sure if we have a strong connection to Jones. I hope so because it doesn't seem like there are that many other shooters in this class that we are connected to.

1. she lists us with other "elite" schools as one of her finalists;
2. she's the only excellent three point shooter on our extended list;
3. she can defend and play the point, and penetrate--she's versatile, albeit 5'5";
4. she seems like a great teammate.
