Rosen to UCLA. I know many here wanted him but it doesn't look like the coaches plan on taking a QB n this class, which I personally think is the right choice.
A kid I really like for 2016 is Jarrett Guarantano from Jersey same school as Garrett Dickerson and Kurt Holuba
I don't think it is necessarily true that the coaches are not going to take a QB in the 2015 class, I just believe the staff for some reason does not think Rosen was the right QB to take. We offered Ricky Town which shows that we are willing to take a QB. I would not be surprised if they continue evaluating the QB prospects and offer someone like Brady White or Travis Waller or some QB that we dont even know about.
Further, I think it is a good idea to take a QB every year if you can get one worth taking. None of these players are sure things when they are recruited and the high level of competition between a few highly rated recruits should bring out the best in them.
As for 2016, I don't know anything about Guarantano but that is a good football school. KJ Costello is a name to watch as is Messiah de Weaver (an amazing name, but he might be hard to pull out of Ohio).

I question how serious Town's offer was. He went to our camp presumable to earn an offer got it then commits to Alabama a couple of days later? Strange to say the least

I think every offer made is a serious offer, at least on the part of the coaches. What upside would there be to making an offer to a player you don't want, or think you have no shot at? You may believe the odds are long that you would get a player, but that would not mean the offer wasn't serious.

I appreciate any player who chooses to "keep it simple" on their announcements. Choose a school and move on with life.

Seems we have an edge with OT Chuma Edoga's mom:

No surprise here. He chose Michigan.

I really think that in a couple of years we will solidify our spot as one of the top schools for OLinemen, if we aren't already there. Yankey will be one of the top OG to go in this year's draft, and Peat will probably follow next year and go in the first round. We will see how the other members of that great class, like Kyle Murphy, Josh Garnett, and Johnny Caspers progress, but I'm guessing all end up in the NFL. When that happens, recruiting smart OLmen will get even easier.

In a footnote to the elite eight win, it seems Georgian recruit Austin Bryant enjoyed the game as well:

Just journalistic speculation to fill space and rile up the Vandy and Tennessee fans. It seems dubious to me this kind of move will have any impact on the recruitment of a kid with so much talent and so many options.

Drukarev with some strong words about this weekend's Junior Day:
"Stanford's second Junior Day of the spring is this weekend. They're hosting an extremely talented group of prospects. (8 four-stars)"
"This is the most talented group of visitors I can recall Stanford hosting for a Junior Day and I've been covering their recruiting for 5 yrs"

Re: Class of 2015 -

We will all accept all the positive comments we can find from any recruit, but personally I'll take all comments from recruits with a grain of salt, especially immediately following a campus visit. Coming off a great day, with other recruits, not wanting to offend coaches, the comments will almost always be positive, the recruits version of "we take Em one at a time." Now if a recruit ever says anything lukewarm or negative, we can probably scratch them off the list (I recall a few years ago a recruit, on receiving a Stanford offer, saying, 'well, it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread," and you know he's not coming unless something dramatic happens.
Glad to read the positive tweets. That's step one!

Rex Manu liked the Junior Day enough to commit:

I couldn't find any real highlights or much in the way of ratings.

No matter Manu's recruiting rating, his video is quite impressive.
Re: Class of 2015 -

247 is first to rate Manu, and has decided he is a three-star (88/100 rating, where 90 = four-stars) and the #34 DT in the country.
Re: Class of 2015 -
Extra Point - 04-08-2014
At this point, a Stanford offer means Manu will get at least a three star rating. 10 years ago it would not have mattered.

Sounds like Jashon Cornell, a top ranked lineman, will be making a west coast swing in the "near future."

Have we offered a single power RB yet? I know its probable an overreaction because it is still early but I have to think Alfieri is going to play RB from day one either that or we are going away from power football
