There are not many surprises in the WCWS bracket. Six of the top 8 seeds made it to the WCWS. The only top 8 seeds that didn't advance to Oklahoma City were #2 UCLA, whose bracket was won by #15 Utah, and #8 Duke, which was replaced by #9 Stanford.

Agree with Bobk's point on Utah winning the Pac tourney over UCLA. However, prior to this year, they have really struggled over the past several years (missing the tourney four years in a row). They are like Oregon State from last year in that regard (potent offense, veteran ace pitcher who elevated her game down the stretch when it counted most). They are also like Oregon State in that it is tough for them to sustain competitiveness from season to season in the Pac without a rebuild (see OSU's collapse this year after making the World Series last year).
