I looked yesterday but didn’t see that Volchko had committed anywhere. In the portal still I guess

Who's list is that?
Next year's recruiting class may have higher draft prospects than the active team.
PerfectGame rates Tyler Spangler as #4 HS draft prospect (BA #6, Prep Baseball #3) and lists 8 Stanford commits in their top 102.
Here's a random guy (random as far as I know) ranking 2026 college prospects:
Volchko #31
Keenan #34
Marsh #43 (though I think he is not eligible until 2027, BDay 5/19/2006)
Reynolds #75
No Sasaki or Nati or Lim
Under Keenan he does state "the Stanford commitment always seems to win out nowadays", which of course I hope continues to prove true.

My source is Baseball America
For 2026 they also have 8 Stanford commits in the top 100 HS only for the draft including 5 top 35.
Great to have two sources

Thanks BobK,
Do we know if there was any NIL involved on this one. Sorry to see him go and I hope the team makes him regret the move.

Curious. It appears that Georgia’s rotation in 2026 will look a lot like Stanford’s in 2025. Interesting to see if Scott and Volchko both start and how they do.

Rintaro Sasaki is listed at 6' 0" and 275 lbs. That weight has to be a typo, right?

That's what it said in last year's bio. If you get a chance to see him IRL, you'll understand why.

Having seen him in person pretty soon after he arrived, and then again 6 months later, I dare say he actually put *on* more weight.

Well, his listed weight is about the same as Aaron Judge, so Rintaro is in good company!

Just looked it up. Judge is 6'7". He will become the tallest batting champion ever in a few days.
