Kurt was excellent Thursday with 18 kills. So alternating them still seems okay. We'll need them both next season after Rubin is gone.

Exactly. I think it is one of those terms that makes the announcers sound like they know more than they actually do.

Yes, I'd like to see Blyashov start three or four matches in a row and see if she can develop confidence and some rhythm as a starter. If she falters then bring in Kurt.
A big help in this match was Etzler's passing. A few mistakes but overall she is the one I want to see taking the serve receive. Miami has the toughest serving Stanford has faced this year.

NCAA released its in-season top 16. Stanford is 11th. They have not defeated any of the other top 16 teams so far this season, but they will still have a shot against Pitt (at home), Louisville (at Louisville) and SMU (at home). Sure would have loved to have defeated Texas.

I think the ranking at 11 seems fair. We will have opportunity to move up with big games still ahead and "if" we had beaten Texas or Louisville would likely have been in the top 8. Interestingly, we are ranked much higher in the weekly polls, currently at #5 in the country. The committee ranking is all that matters in the end.

Pittsburgh beat Louisville 3-2 today.
Currently in the ACC standings:
1. UNC 8-0
2T Stanford 7-1
2T Pitt 7-1
4T Louisville 6-2
4T SMU 6-2
6 Miami 5-3
UNC hosts Louisville next Sunday, so good chance for them to pick up a loss.

Announcers said she was available but was given a rest. Unfortunately Stanford may give Clemson it's first conference win. Clemson has momentum and even with Rubin it may be hard to turn around.

Rubin in now. I assume wanted to give her a rest game but subpar performance in set 1 puts that in question. Can't afford to drop this game. I would like to see a new setter in too. Pringle really struggling to serve receive too.

Announcer commenting how Clemson team is celebrating after big plays and having fun. Stanford players are not.

Maybe Clemson didn't want to embarrass Stanford by sweeping them.
That ball was way in. Hambly will lose this challenge.
