Well, I think we’ve had success with CyFair alums.

Her travel team is named CyFair Elite but she doesn't play for CyFair high school. That confused me for a while as I was looking for info on the web.

everybody looks good at this game. one player looks spectacular: hannah hidalgo - wow!

kendall dudley looks good. jazzy davidson looks good. blanca thomas looks good.

joyce edwards looks really good - cameron brink good. i wonder if we have any chance with her. on the plus side, a high gpa and i believe she has visited; on the minus side, she's from south carolina.

the broadcast featured courtney ogden

until the last few minutes, this game featured much more team play than, say the mcdonald's game, which is often one player bringing the ball up and shooting.

i was eager to see cassandre prosper. she is fast with some good defensive plays, but her shots are not falling.

RE: Class of 2023+ - CompSci87 - 08-12-2022

Great halftime segment featuring Ogden, plus she played well in the game.

Candice Wiggins was there as an assistant coach. Nice to see her on the broadcast.

Wiggins now in Geneva, Ohio

RE: Class of 2023+ - BobK - 08-22-2022

For those who thought Donovan of Sidwell Friends might be a possible she committed to Duke today

RE: Class of 2023+ - Griffins78 - 08-22-2022

Bummer. Thought she was someone we could have landed if we put the effort in. Now there’s the last of the threesome from Sidwell remaining.

RE: Class of 2023+ - WBB fan - 08-23-2022

Was Donavan ever really a possible? She wasn't on the our list.

RE: Class of 2023+ - BobK - 08-23-2022

I decided not to add her until I knew more so never did

DONOVAN's midrange jumper is such a thing of beauty - great elevation, great stroke!

RE: Class of 2023+ - BobK - 08-24-2022

Donovan is truely outstanding. However in a SI story yesterday Stanford was not in her top 6

RE: Class of 2023+ - jonnyss - 08-28-2022

i have been watching videos of juju. she reminds me of diana taurasi in many ways. love to have her at stanford but not counting on it.

With just 2+ months before start of 2023 early signing period in Nov 2022,
this is how I would rank the current Top 10 recruiting classes
based primarily on ESPN Hoopgurlz
(with a little influence by higher player rankings per ProspectNation):

1.5)  Arizona:

#9   -  Montaya DEW  6'2  SF/PF

#4   -  Cierra TOOMEY  6'3  C
#14 -  Reniya KELLY  5'5  PG
#72 -  Rylee GRAYS  6'3  C

4.5)  LSU:

#1   -  Mikayla WILLIAMS  6'0  SG
#46 -  Janae KENT  6'1  SF

#28 -  Chloe CLARDY  5'9  SG
#40 -  Sunaja AGARA  6'2  SF/PF  (#14 per ProspectNation)

6)  Duke:

#3   -  Jadyn DONOVAN  6'0  SG

7)  Maryland:

#29 -  Riley NELSON  6'0  SF
#79 -  Emily FISHER  6'1  SF

#43 -  Jalynn BRISTOW  6'2  PF
#51 -  Audi CROOKS  6'3  C

RE: Class of 2023+ - jonnyss - 08-29-2022

thanks. unusual not to see south carolina or oregon in the top 10 in recruiting.

RE: Class of 2023+ - joemontes - 08-30-2022

Including their 3 HS senior commits for 2023,
this is how Stanford's line-up/depth chart
looks like for the 2023-2024 season:

SF:  (2)
-  Brooke DEMETRE   6'2  (Jr)
-  Courtney OGDEN   6'0  (Fr)

PF/C:  (4)
-  Cameron BRINK   6'4  (Sr)
-  Lauren BETTS   6'7  (So)
-  Okikiola IRIAFEN   6'3  (Jr)
-  Sunaja AGARA   6'2  (Fr)

SG:  (3)
-  Agnes EMMA-NNOPU   5'11  (Sr)
-  Elena BOSGANA   6'2  (Jr)
-  Stavi PAPADAKI   5'11  (So)

Combo Guard (SG/PG):  (2)
-  Indya NIVAR   5'10  (So)
-  Chloe CLARDY   5'9  (Fr)

PG:  (2)
-  Talana LEPOLO   5'7  (So)
-  Jzaniya HARRIEL   5'10  (RS So)

That's a roster of 13 for 2023-2024 so there is room
for 2 more 2023 recruits.

However, as already mentioned before, if Stanford uses
those 2 remaining allotments for 2023, they will have room
for only 2 2024 recruits.

Question:
Is the above-mentioned 13 player roster for 2023-2024
good enough to be a Final Four team?

On paper, YES, but, in reality, it really depends on how
NIVAR, LEPOLO and HARRIEL perform this forthcoming season,
this being their freshman season, especially manning the PG position.

Personally, I would just use one of the 2 remaining 2023 allotments
for 2023, so as to reserve the other 2023 slot for 2024
where they have several Top 30 prospects.

(I know Stanford is targetting #1 PF EDWARDS, #3 PG/SG OLSON,
#10 Center THOMAS from the 2024 Class, but my personal favorite
is #28 PF/SF/SG/PG CHELI from the ArchBishop Mitty after watching her
play for the USA U17 national team. Her game resembles that
of Notre Dame's Sonia CITRON who I really like, as well.)

Or maybe get silent commitments right now from (1) JUMP and
(2) either PRECHTEL or BELIBI to play for their optional covid 5th year?
That way, they get to reserve both 2 remaining 2023 recruiting
allotments for 2024...

cassandre prosper is really good; juju watkins and hannah hidalgo are just spectacular - imo these 2 are haley jones / cameron brink talented. i can't see turning any of these 3 down (2 of 3).

yes, it will be very disappointing not to have space for edwards, olson and cheli, and we will need another post, like blanca thomas, soon. and then there's allie ziebell, a higher-ranked hannah-jump-type sharpshooter.

Yes, would love any of those three.  All are phenomenal!

Are we sure all current players are on scholarship… ie Papadaki? Not suggesting I’ve heard anything otherwise, but just a question if anybody knows.

Your comment "we will need another post, like bianca thomas, soon" is actually quite
an URGENT one, especially after BRINK graduates. When you think about it, Stanford will
only have 3 true post players for the 2023-2024 season, since AGARA was a guard up until
her HS sophomore season then got transplanted to SF/PF last season, and if one or more
of BRINK/BETTS/IRIAFEN gets injured, hmmm....compare that to this season, wherein
Stanford has BETTS/PRECHTEL/BRINK/IRIAFEN/BELIBI/JONES at the PF/C position!
Getting PROSPER from the 2023 class would fittingly address this issue, though.

I’m not sure I agree with the urgency for getting PF or C in the class of 2023.  I don’t think Agara is a guard trying to play PF like say Tara tried with Bonnie Samuelson.  Agara has the body type, strength and rebounding ability of a prototypical PF and that was why she was selected to the USA U17 team as a PF.   And Demetre can also play the 4 if need be.  Thus you have 5 good options for 2 spots.  Hidalgo is an elite PG which we have had trouble recruiting and Watkins could be the next Diana Taurasi so if those are your 2 other 2023 recruits you have to take them.  And or Prosper who is so versatile and talented perhaps like Haley Jones/Nicole Powell.
