Wow, that's the current #1 for the Class of '24, that must be among one of our earliest offers for someone just entering her sophomore year of HS.
It would seem Dawn Staley and South Carolina would have the hometown advantage as Edwards is from the state and if we were able to recruit her to the West Coast, that would be a of immense proportions steal from their backyard.
I actually read on the UConn board that South Carolina doesn't seem to hold a home court advantage here and that Edwards and Stanford had a strong early connection, it was posted even before the offer tweet.

She's a unique prospect, kind of has otherworldly hands and long arms almost like Breanna Stewart, not as tall but seemingly stronger and more athletic.

How many people now claim to have been there in Sacramento that night? I do, and I was there. I wonder if that's the only Stanford WBB play that was ever #1 on ESPN's 10 ten plays that night on Sports Channel. What a thrill to see it so recognized.

I find it irresponsible to make an offer to a 14 year old child. How can she know what she wants for college at this age?
I remember when my kids were 14. There is no way they were in a position to decide what college was best for them or what their major would be.

They can't sign a LoI until Nov of their senior year, so even if they were to commit that early, they can change their minds. And, especially for Stanford, they need to be admitted.

I'm from a small town in Indiana without really any college history from my family (except that Notre Dame is in the town over and everybody had blue and gold in all their houses). I told my parents when I was 6 I was going to go to Stanford because I read about it in a book. It never waivered, and I did end up there. So, I think every child is different in knowing what they want. I think if not ready, they just choose not to accept an offer until ready. But not sure I really agree its irresponsible to offer them.

As joyful as that was for Pohlen and Stanford fans everywhere, hard not to feel for DDJ. I think the pain of that end game is 10x as strong as the joy on the other side. The good news is that the missed bunnies would only have put Xavier up by 2, and who really knows what happens after that. Maybe Stanford ties it; maybe Stanford wins it on a trey.

I think there have been periodic retrospectives with her. I think the legacy of that game was very tough on Jurnigan.

As a Stanford fan (or a fan of the winning team) you never think about the opposing side and what devastating consequences losing can have. Kiki Rice on her official visit to Uconn this weekend. This is either her last or she has one official visit left. Have not heard confirmation that she's been on official to Duke yet.

september and october are reasonably pleasant in connecticut. it's november through march (the entire basketball season) that are killer. but she'll know that from d.c.

Weather here plus fall colors can be glorious this time of year. However, today is miserably humid and weirdly warm for mid-October. After the rain tonight it’s supposed to be better tomorrow.
