I'm not sure what the basis of the seeding is.  #52 TCU 1 went 3-0 in pool 13.  Stanford 1 (Hodel/Kriz) ended up 1-2 in that pool, but got third place, so should move on.

In pool 10, Stanford #2 (Ekstrom/Reilly) went 3-0 and will get a first round bye.

In the elimination bracket, Stanford 1 won their first match 2-0 over Stetson 1, but then lost 2-1 to LSU 2.
From their they went to the "17th bracket" where they beat LMU 1.  Tomorrow they meet Texas A&MCC.

Stanford 2 beat LMU 2 and GCU 2 before falling to UW 1 2-1 a few minutes ago, just missing the semi-finals.
They'll play in the "5th bracket" tomorrow against USC 1.

Final standings:  Ekstrom/Reilly (seeded #42) finish #6 (second place in the 5th bracket).
Hodel/Kriz (seeded #45) finish #17 (first place in the 17th bracket).

Nice to see them beat their seeds.

Though seeding seemed somewhat random.  Overall winner was #15 seed, runner-up #52. #1 seed finished #7.

Hoffman and partner Samantha Parrish won a qualifer match to get in the main draw at AVP Huntington Beach today.
Seems to be her first AVP event (she earned a CBVA AAA rating by winning a AA event last year).

Chloe Hoffman is 2023 so probably 17 years old.  Pretty impressive to make it into the Huntington Beach main draw.  They play the 13 seed at 7:00 am tomorrow. I'm in SoCal this weekend and might go to Huntington Beach early tomorrow and check out some matches.

Paloalto, were you able to get over to Huntington Beach?

I see Hoffman/Parrish lost their first match, then went 1-1 in the contenders bracket to end tied for 13th.

Carly Wopat is also playing, partnered with Megan Rice.  Pleasantly surprised to see they've gone 3-0 and are in the quarterfinals.
They are up against the #1 seed Hughes and Cheng (nee Claes).

I don't expect to see the 2023 Stanford BVB schedule for a couple of weeks yet.
But Tulane put their schedule on instagram, and it includes the "Stanford Invitational" on April 5th.
(A Wednesday?)

Looking forward to seeing what the freshmen bring (especially Gusarova and Belardi).

In case you missed the news, Alix Klineman announced she is pregnant.
Expecting a baby boy in about for more months.

She isn't ruling out a run at the Paris Olympics, but hedging quite a bit, and I don't really expect it.  She has her gold.

So Feb 23rd?  A couple of days earlier than last year.

Impressive sports resumes of the freshmen class.  Belardi's AAA adult ranking since the age of 13 is impressive.  Actually I don't know how a 13 year old kid gets a AAA ranking. There must be sanctioned beach tournaments not well attended where it's possible for a kid to be successful against adults.

In any event I'm excited to see which players make the starting five teams.
