Not everything went as planned at Uconn's First Night last night - they couldn't get 1 of the baskets/standards situated properly; but stands were packed per the Boneyard

Have I been asleep in the past, or do we seem to be making a lot of early offers this time around?

I've never seen so many early offers reported. New strategy?

Perhaps connected to lack of SAT need for admission (current, possibly expected in future)?

I don't know about WBB.  For WVB the test scores were almost always the obstacle keeping recruits from being admitted. The assistant coach Corlett would tell the recruit what she needed for scores, GPA, and the number of AP/Honors classes to take.  The recruits always seemed to manage the GPA but fell short on the test scores.  This is what I have heard through the years mainly from parents.

I would believe that. Test scores are impersonal. What you score is what you score. Grades often are not. The teachers in most cases have lots of latitude in what grade they give any student. A student can improve their grade by working hard and doing "extra" things to impress the teacher. If the student is likable and clearly serious academically, that is worth quite a bit in the GPA.

Strikes me as plausible that as part of succession planning it makes sense to shore up future classes.   And standardized tests no longer being required can definitely enable that.

That ESPN 70 is a major move upward -- she wasn't in top 100 before the latest revision. I can't figure out where she is on Prospects Nation. When they had the news bit about her committing to Stanford, she was described as a elite 25 watchlist player with a 4.5 star ranking, but if you look at their 2023 list, she's not there.  Or is she, and I'm missing it?

it would be their 2022 list, but i agree, she's not there. i also agree that a 4.5 star ranking should put her in the top 34 players (six 5 star and 28 4.5 star). i sent chris a webmail from the site.

Jordan Lee ranked #8 in the class by ASGR.

https://asgrbasketball.com/2024-top-30-players/

#22 5'6" PG Ljiwoye from Arizona I believe is being recruited by Stanford.

Sienna Betts #22 for c/o 2025.

The Arizona guard Shay on our list

I wonder if there is any possibility Joyce Edwards was on campus recently. She has picked up offers from Stanford, Washington, and Oregon over the past 3/4 days, and Oregon State fans reported she was in Corvallis yesterday. Seems like she may have gone on a west coast visit tour.

I wasn’t at VB today but my friends were watching the game and watching for Edwards

She does show up as 4.5 stars with a "watch list" badge here: https://prospectsnation.com/player/talana-lepolo

Maybe they raised her rating since the last time they updated the list page.

there are 2 descriptions of 2024 jordan lee. espn indeed describes a highly ranked 6'3" forward from st. mary's in stockton.

jasonkiddselect congratulates a guard, and the current st mary's roster lists a 5'11" guard.

the mystery deepens!
