Just kidding. It was a good season.

How lucky are we as Stanford sports fans? Just within the last 2 weeks we have been able to watch the best women's golfer to ever play at Stanford AND perhaps the best softball player ever to play at Stanford, both competing on the biggest stage.
Congratulations to Coach Allister and the team on a TREE-mendous season. It did not end with a championship. But now they have an idea of what it takes to do so. And they should take away a lot of confidence about what they can achieve. Hope that Vawter, Lim and Steele will be able to stick around for one more year.

I will echo many of these points Spiny. What a tremendous performance this season, and particularly in the WCWS. I mean, I am almost at a loss of superlatives for how good this season and this postseason performance (particularly in the WCWS) was. I feel lucky as fans, we were able to indirectly be part of this great journey that the team had this year.

I hope Allister doesn't beat herself up over the intentional walk. I wouldn't have done it based on what limited info we have, but she has alot more info. This was a tremendous season, and, if she can recruit a couple heavy hitters, they are in the top ten, at least, for as long as Canady is here.

Oklahoma is a monster: their starting lineup has four .400 hitters and four .300 hitters. Ours has two .300 hitters. Our performance against them over two World Series games was inspiring.

In the seventh and eighth inning the announcers were talking about how Stanford should have gotten a higher seed. What a fantastic season.

Florida state beat Tennessee so it’s best 2 out of 3 Florida Stare vs Oklahoma
Tennessee and Stanford finished 3rd

Go Florida State! Not a fan of how the Sooners conduct themselves. They celebrate every good play like they just won the World Series and are very in-your-face about it. It's basically taunting. Case in point, when Coleman got intentionally walked in the 9th inning she slammed down her bat and started gesticulating wildly like she had just hit a home run or something. I've noticed similar behavior from them in prior years. They seem to lack a little something called class!

Agree on that intentional walk and other weird shows of elation
For those who don’t know the Florida State coach is a former Stanford assistant. Long ago

Oklahoma and its players are insufferable. That celebration after the intentional walk was gross

I think the program must have made themselves more fans the way the played and conducted themselves. Congrats to the team and Coach Allister.
It was a lot of fun watching them progress this year.

This may have been a little joke at Oklahoma's expense. Oklahoma is building a new softball stadium that more than doubles capacity. The new stadium for OU softball will cost $27 million.
