Kurt with a match high 12 kills hitting .688%.  I'm not sure Blyashov, when healthy, will break into the starting lineup.

Dang, I fell off my bike on the way to the match and never made it inside Maples. I hurt my hip and shoulder.  

Happily I have a friend coming to get me.

During breaks they showed short videos of the players reading the stories behind the words.

For several years, up to 2023, there was an auction to sponsor the pink jerseys, with proceeds going to the Stanford Hospital Women's  Cancer Center.  The winner of each jersey got to choose the name (or word) to put on the jersey.

I didn't see an auction for this year.  Given the fact that the players read bits about the words on their jerseys, I'm guessing the players may have chosen the words or names this year.   I do recall that the word "strong" (or strength) was chosen for a quality of the breast cancer survivor honored at half time.

No auction this year; there was a drawing.  Got this email from SWVB on 9/30:

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU
In preparation for this season's Pink Match on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7 PM PT vs. Boston College, the Cardinal wants to hear from you as it raises awareness for the fight against breast cancer.

The program invites you to submit your story, your why, or how breast cancer has impacted your life, along with a name or short phrase you'd want printed on the back of a pink Stanford jersey. Each submission is entered to win a game-worn pink jersey with the name or phrase of your choosing printed on the back.

Fill out the form by clicking here or the respective button below. Form submissions will close on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 9 AM PT.

Unfortunately I broke my hip and collarbone. Surgery to pin the hip tomorrow. Collarbone just needs to be in a sling until it heals.

Agree.  Had my left hip replaced a few years ago.  Rehab was long and mostly boring.  Fixed my other hip and both knees.  Human bodies are weird.

Tim,
So sorry to hear about the crash.  I think I walked past you last night after the game.  You were on a bench with a bike but were on the phone and looking down so I didn't want to interrupt.  Sorry I couldn't do anything to help.  I broke my hip 20 years ago when I crashed on my bike.  I have a large screw and a small plate in there now.  Rehab is a pain but following the program really works.  Best of luck.  Please dm if there is anything I can do.
