In the latest Pablo (computer) ranking, Stanford and SMU are tied for 6th.
Home-court advantage means SMU is favored to win on Wednesday, with about 57% win probability.

Unfortunately I broke my hip and collarbone. Surgery to pin the hip tomorrow. Collarbone just needs to be in a sling until it heals.

This week's road matches at #12 SMU and #1 Pitt will pretty much determine
if #5 Stanford can be a 1-seed or will instead be a 2-seed/3-seed come NCAA tourney time.

I agree Joe.  I think a win against SMU is more critical than against Pitt for any hope of a #1 regional seed.

I'm sure the SMU fans will be saying; We beat #1 and #2 and on Wednesday we'll beat Stanford.  The arena in the big D should be full for the match.

Stanford has 14 more ACC matches so I think it's way too early to forecast NCAA seedings. But I do want to see if Stanford can maintain its high level of play in a challenging stretch. Stanford plays 5 of its next 6 on the road.

Oct 20 @Pitt
Oct 23 @Cal
Oct 25 vs. Cal (Homecoming weekend!)
Nov 1 @Miami
Nov 3 @Florida St

That's a tough stretch at a time in the season when nagging injuries start to add up and sometimes teams hit a wall. Stanford does not have a lot of experienced depth.

#5 Stanford at #12 SMU Wednesday 4:00pm PT on ACCN.   

SMU is 5-1 in conference with the one loss being to #1 Pitt.  SMU lost two matches to unranked teams earlier in the season and that's been a weight on their ranking.

 SMU's Moody Coliseum holds 7,000.  It should be pretty much filled up.

On TV, the SMU coach noted that Stanford wasn’t playing very well. She expressed disappointment that her team wasn’t playing better.

Hambly spoke later. He pretty much agreed with her.

For me that was probably the most exciting Stanford match this season.

Rubin is so much fun to watch when she is swinging hard and confidently.  As the announcer said she was bouncing some balls.  Kurt also getting velo on the ball at times.

Rubin's back row floor defense is possibly the best in the country for an OH.   She reminds me of Jordan Burgess.

Oglivie had some incredible digs and hitter coverage.
