ETA:  And USC wins all three.  Ekstrom & Reilly kept in close on court 1.
Still, not a bad showing against defending national champions, on their home sand.

Stanford vs. ASU underway.  Some changes to the line up.
Belardi & Vincent move up to 3s.  New pair of Maya Harvey & Line Andersson at 4s.
Emmy Sharp back at the 5s, with Camdyn Doucet.
And freshman Gusarova with sophomore Doucet in the exhibition match.

Stanford wins 3-2.  Ekstrom & Reilly struggle again, losing 21-19, 15-21, 13-15.
Hodel/Kriz and Belardi/Vincent continue winning.  Doucet & Sharp also win 2-1.

Took Clarke & Hodel a set to gel, I guess, but they win 2-1.  The other four matches were 2-0; Stanford with the sweep of Utah.

Next weekend they are in LA again, for the "Battle for Los Angeles", playing USC again, plus three non-conference matches.

ETA:  USC upset UCLA 3-2.

Big weekend in LA coming up.  #7 Stanford takes on #13 Florida Atlantic and #8 LMU Saturday (at LMU), and then #2 USC and "receiving votes" Cal Poly Sunday (at USC).  The USC match should be live-streamed (10:00am - set your clocks forward!).

An upset of USC would be great (they came close last weekend).  Just hoping they hold their own against the lower-ranked teams; don't want to be on the wrong end of an upset.

I see on gostanford.com that the Cardinal fell 2-3 to LMU.  Went to FAU's website to see Stanford beat them 3-2.

Stanford swept by USC.  I wasn't able to view the live stream, but watched the scores.  Hodel & Kriz did have a matchpoint at 14-13, but didn't get it.
Belardi & Vincent suffer back-to-back losses.

Stanford does indeed beat Cal Poly, 3-2.  Eckstrom & Reilly got the final point. The 4s and 5s also swept.

Hodel & Kriz went 1-3 this weekend.

ETA:  I'd guess Stanford will fall to #8, possibly #9.

The big move was 8-0 LMU moving from #8 to #5; Stanford moved down one spot to #8.

Stanford falls to #11 Cal, 2-3.  Cardinal 4s and 5s won, but the top three teams all lost.

They'll probably fall to #10 this week (though I have checked other teams' results).

She played in the first exhibition match (which was Stanford vs. Stanford), so not injured.
I was surprised she was not in the line-up for either dual; but it looks like Coach Fuller was experimenting with the pairings.

Two perfect sweeps; not a set lost.
The SJSU #1s were competitive, and gave Hodel & Kriz a good match.  Most of the other matches were not close.

After the second dual, I was heading out, and saw Coach Fuller near the entrance.  He said something like "Thanks for coming today."  So I took the opportunity to ask if he would ever do a chalk talk.  He reacted like that was great idea that had never occurred to him.  Not sure anything will come of it, but we'll see.

Coach Hambly was also there for the USF dual.

Thursday and Friday Stanford takes on #12 Long Beach, #15 FIU, and unranked (NAIA) Vanguard.
