I searched on the Stanford alumni site and found very few alumni within 100 miles of Pullman. 5x+ as many alums live within 100 miles of cities like Dallas, Boston and Miami. It will be interesting to see what Stanford's away crowds will look like in the ACC. Granted, Los Angeles was a different story, but we could be surprised by some of the away crowds.

I saw no other Stanford gear in the place except what was on us. It was a beautiful day outside, but there was a completely full student section (called the "Block") at one end, and they were shouting at the server from inches away in sets 1 and 3. The foot faults appeared valid, but could be partially explained by the crowd. WSU had a set point in each of the first 2 sets and could easily have one either set. There was one spike by Rubin (iirc) in the second set that as good as any of Kipp's (and one of the college kids next to me said "that was badass crazy!"). I'm sure the coaches and team will be glad that this was their last ever visit to Pullman.
I was at the WSU road VB games the last two years as I have friends who live nearby and love the area. The gym is old and small, but it can be really loud with a big echo when the band is there and the students get going. Unlike everyone else, I'll miss seeing Stanford at Bohler. I moved to the PNW a year ago excited that I could go to 4 road matches each year (Oregon, OSU, WSU, UW). Didn't vision the end of the PAC12. Me bad.

Which one of these teams is most likely to win a national championship in 2023/2024?

If next season the schedule has Stanford hooked up with two or three ACC teams to play at SMU on a three day weekend, I'll probably make a trip to the big D; particularly if Stanford's games are not televised. I checked out some hotels and restaurants near the SMU campus.
Stanford plays USC tomorrow 8:00 pm at Maples. USC is 5-1 in conference and according to volleydork.com is ranked #3 in the country in hitting efficiency from the back row. Stanford is coming off a big win against WSU and at times has trouble getting pumped up for home games as opposed to playing in front of raucous, sell-out venues on the road. After the match will USC fans be flashing the victory sign or will the Cardinal defend its house?

Arizona State plays Oregon this weekend. While Oregon is favored it would not be that big an upset if Arizona State wins.

Men's gymnastics is the MOST LIKELY NC team at Stanford.
But it's a winter/spring sport that is not currently active. All of the sports in that graphic are either fall sports or a spring sport (golf) with a fall season and fall rankings.

paloalto,
Restaurants near game site not a problem..lots to ,choose from ranging from student hangouts to upscale places in Snyder Plaza..with alternatives in between. Hotels within walking distance more of a problem . But you can find plenty within a short Uber ride or easy drive…and parking near game site not a problem .
Do you know when matches will occur? I live there and had t heard the SMU midpoint thing was a done deal. Thanks

Hey, BobK got a closeup at the end of the first set.
After trailing much of the set, Stanford took it 25-22. A Kipp ace was the winner.

That's great news but you have to wonder is Taylor here because she's interested in coming to Stanford or is Taylor here to watch her sister Jordyn.
Hambly says Jordyn can touch 10'8".
Going into tonight's match Arizona State was 17-1 overall (loss to Stanford) and Oregon State was 0-6 in conference. So who wins? Oregon State; maybe Arizona State looking ahead to Sunday playing Oregon.

I LOVE to see a big, fat ZERO next to USC's logo at the end of a game. LOVE IT.
