With Destiny Slocum coming on board for them they will be a very challenging team. What do we know about Andrea Aquino? If she is ready for college play they could be a complete team. If not, then they might be challenged inside.

Great question on Aguino. She played for a small SoCal school that didn’t make State. As a Jr played for a small NY State school.
A saw a 1 minutes clip that’s all

Kiana Williams was named to the
preseason list of top shooting guards. Pretty big honor given that she really only broke out at the end of last season. Also seems weird that she's in contention for a positional award against Katie Lou Samuelson. In some vague sense, yes, they are both shooting guards, but can someone 6'3" and someone 5'8" really be compared apples to apples?

Oregon wraps up the previews. I have posted directly to my Blog so the previews can be found once league play starts

Tim you’re a miracle worker. Been talking to people off line about this.
Thank you so much

Oregon certainly looks to have the most talented starting 5 of any Pac12 team, but they are down to 9 healthy players. If all their key people stay healthy they will be tough to beat. Fortunately we get them at Maples this year on Feb 10. I'd prefer to get them in March, but at least we have most of the season to get ready for them and they have most of the season to wear down.

Graves has been quoted that he’s happy with less. Tara quoted at the open practice last week that she wants 15 and to paraphrase a bit women deserve the chance
I’m sure we will play Oregon in March see ya in Vegas

The different philosophies probably have to do with the value of the degrees. Of the 15 people we carry on our team, there are usually a small number who never play significant minutes in any of their four years.
A rare few of our players start for 4 years, more of them earn starting roles by the time they are juniors or seniors, and a few more become very significant to the rotation and earn significant minutes even if they never start. But then there are always a few others who don't really do any of those things--but they are important in practice, they join the sisterhood that is the team, and they graduate with a degree from Stanford University. They might even go on an archaeological dig in Peru. Those same players could perhaps have been four year starters at a lesser program, but their lives are deeply enriched by being at Stanford. I think that may be what Tara means when she says "They deserve a chance." Not just a chance at basketball, but a chance at a much better life. Carrying fewer than 15 means the program is not providing that chance to as many women as it could.
As much as I like Graves as a coach, I doubt he has quite that perspective.

Watching Destiny Slocum at Maryland I thought she was overrated (and she seemed to have quite a few "wow, look what I just did" moments). Some of that will change playing for Rueck but will that affect her play
